Twins fans, I've been thinking about trying to do a collection, and I'm not sure if this will be at all possible for meb, but I was considering trying to get a GU/AU of the Twins greatest position players, and by that I mean I want a GU/AU of the best first basemen (killebrew of course), best 2nd basemen, and so on. I was wanting to get your perspective on who I should be after for each position. I'm thinking I'll start out with going for just GU first, and then maybe working my way up to autos because I'm short on cash. Any help will be appreciated!

1B - Kent Hrbek
2B - Rod Carew
3B - Gary Gaetti
SS - Zoilo Versalles
OF - Harmon Killebrew
OF - Kirby Puckett
OF - Tony Oliva
C - Joe Mauer

If you want to put Killebrew at 1B, I'd say Torii Hunter is next OF.

Pitchers - Johan Santana, Jim Kaat, Jack Morris, Frank Viola, Bert Blyleven, Brad Radke
Closers - Joe Nathan, Rick Aguliera, Jeff Reardon

I agree with many of the selections, you could get an even stronger group if you put Killebrew at third where he played over 700 games (mostly for the Washington Senators before they move to MN).

Besides, there are NO GU Gary Gaetti cards out there. Auto cards, yes (2005 Topps Fan Favorites is a good and cheap one of Gary in a Twins uni) I doubt you'd find any of Zoilo Versalles, either.

Well, I lost out. I have had a round-about relationship with this card and it won't be mine after all. I just can't go any higher. I believe this one was on FCB at one point and the owner of it and I didn't come to a deal, and then he ended up leaving.

DH: Thome? has a Heritage game used I'm pretty sure but no autos that I can think of in Twins uniform.

Other DH options: Winfield, Molitor

Ya he wasn't here long I hear ya. But the words all time greatest definetly describes Thome and DH isn't a big spot to give up. We didn't have many that stuck around all that long that were in that position.

It is sad but look back at the Lynx' record the last few years and they haven't exactly been wonderful. If the Wolves had their luck in the draft, they would be much better.
