I guess I never understood all the hate against the WNBA. I apologize for posting about it, but the Twins aren't doing jack... plus all I heard for the last 3 weeks is "This will be the first professional championship since the Twins won in 1991" (which is a false statement, the last one was the F-M RedHawks winning the Northern League in 2010).

So again, I apologize.

On an un-related note, I am going to slim down on my posts in this thread until the Caravans roll around. The Twins aren't doing much and I never buy anything Twins related so there won't be any need to comment on anything. I don't feel like I haven't contributed anything positive to the thread in a good while so I will let you guys go at it.

Here is what I got today... I figure Gophers and Senators are acceptable to share, even though they aren't Twins...

Seth Rosin 4-auto, 2 parallel lot:

1958 Topps 9-card lot (posting for the Art Schult card in top right corner):

If by "that one" you mean the red stitched one, that dude was a PITA to work with. I offered 600 cash and he BSed me saying he had an offer of 700 he was going to take, this was a month ago. His loss equals your gain, congrats!

Ya I could probably explain that if we ever met up. The beginning of our haggling started similar. I too don't believe anyone offered that much cash for it despite I know that 2 other guys from in-town trying to trade him for it.

Anyway my new favorite piece.

I probably won't be going after this pretty sick card now. You going for it? Check this serial # on this one.

$44 for a Cuddyer plate? I paid $17 for mine and $25 to get it signed, less than buying an unsigned one

That one wasn't signed though if i'm not mistaken
I know, I'm saying I was able to get one signed for cheaper than an unsigned one just sold for

You really are clueless golden
Topps product
New release
Set/player/team collectors fighting for a 1/1
All equal higher prices out of the gate
A month from now, it settles back down to a 15-20 card or once there is a new release by Topps

Not to mention he paid $25 to devalue his card. Somehow he thinks IP autos add value.

It devalues it even with a COA?

A card should never be altered from how it was issued from the company. If it's only for your collection and you don't care about it's value, then anyone should do whatever they want, as they are only cards.

This. I would never get anything other than base cards signed. If you never plan on selling them then getting them autographed is just fine. You like your PC of signed plates and that's cool, everyone should like what they collect so that's great. Just know that if you are ever in a spot where you are looking/needing/wanting to move them that you won't get what you put into them because people don't like buying stuff like that Auto'd.

Getting base cards of Ginter or topps base rc's increases their value imo. Other things such as Vintage cards, plates and serial #'d cards usually devalue them though. However I did once have a Bob Feller RC signed that I got for 50$ (cause the dealer considered it devalued) and sold it for 185 once I got it PSA/DNA'd. However these are just in the most common cases. Each card is what someone is willing to pay for it. On ebay all you need is two collectors that really want an item to drive up the price. If you like the plates then i'd say since you don't have a ton of cash in them, then your okay cause you enjoy them. Thats what a collection is all about its something for you only to enjoy it. Value is in the eye of the collector and people collect some strange things. There is a guy I see at the signings that gets an entire team on a Homer Hanky. I highly doubt he gets any value from those on ebay but he loves them. To each his own.

So orange refractors, GU cards, and plates are no-nos to get signed?

I personally wouldn't unless its just a cheap card and would look great signed.

Getting this signed right above Canada would look great in my opinion as long as your okay with throwing the 20 bucks in value it has out the window and having a great piece to add to your collection. Just my .02

PS: I got the Red Cuddy.
