I really picked the worst year to try and make it to Twinsfest. It is quite a drive for me, but I do need to get some stuff signed

The tickets were not $20 in Blaine.
Twinsfest tickets have never been more than $15 at the door.
It always made sense to buy advance tickets for $9, as that was all it really was worth to get into Twinsfest.
Mauer will be a piece of cake to get this year. Last year was year two of the wristband distribution and Mauer was done with signing for each of his three sessions prior to the end of the allotted time. Reason being, attendance was dramatically reduced from the previous years, whether people want to chalk it up to "weather" or lack of "big league" players, this year will be no different.

You are completely right it was $9 that year as well. Without much star power beyond Mauer Twinsfest has become a little stale. That being said the money does go to charity and is still one of the cheapest fan fests in baseball.

I also expect tickets to sell out on the first day they are available meaning that $20 may be an issue for some but it won't prohibit the Twins from selling out.

On the bright side though, this will allow me to get better items for the Caravan, since I don't have to penny-pinch for TwinsFest.

I'm hoping they come back to Marshall and Willmar this year, and possibly Montevideo now that I live closer to there.

You dont see a problem with the price hike as you were a one day attender.
I was a three day attender, so going from $27 total ($9 per day in advance) to $20 a day ($60 total), no discount for advanced tickets is a total kick in the nuts to me.

Just curious by what you mean by "we all know the system is going to be abused" in regards to the prospects?

I hadn't considered the 2-3 day attenders. That is quite a substantial difference.

As far as my comments as "system is going to be abused," what I meant was that the Twins will probably sit 3-5 guys at the prospect table and try and charge $10-$15 for the trio, when they are "Cole Nelson" -esque players.

Maybe they won't, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised.

They were $9 from the Twins, but they were so limited that they doubled (and in some cases, tripled) on eBay.

I don't remember how much we spent on them. It was quite a lot though.

I believe the Twins will be mixing in prospects with current and retired players at the same table so Cole Nelson could be with Willingham Hicks and Laudner for example. They used to mix in prospects prior to the Down on The Farm table creation.

That could be an option too, which would make it a little more understandable.

Al Newman is going to remain in Alexandria this season. I should be seeing him a few times in Duluth.

If anyone needs anything signed, just lemme know.

I'll withhold final judgement until more details are released, but right now it doesn't look too promising. The $20 is quite the price hike, but I will most likely only go 1 day this year rather than my usual all 3 because of time commitment. It will be interesting to see what they do with the autograph prices, but I'm really upset about not being able to look around as much stuff at the show as in years past because that is something I have done more and more lately. Also upset that season ticket holders aren't given complimentary tickets like previous years, only the opportunity to get them.

I only go 1 day a year, and just brave the tables for cards. Hopefully there are dealers with cards to be had. As far as auto's, I don't like to wait because I can get a ball on eBay for 30 bucks anytime thereafter.

Speaking of Morneau, the signing Saturday, the one per person will be strictly enforced, so if you have more than one ticket, you best bring someone with you. Just didn't want any of you that got multiple tickets to not be prepared.
