Well through the first few batters Liriano is looking weak once again. Am I the only one who thinks he should be in the pen whenever we've got a starter in place?

There is only 2 things that get to me with Liriano other then being consistently sub par:

1. It seems to be that he can't handle pressure situations consistently

2. It almost appears as if he's afraid of the strike zone.

I love Mike Redmond! A triple and a bunt single for the back up catcher today!

True true, my friends dad is a cop in Minneapolis and was a good freind of Kirby's. I was lucky enough to meet him a couple times, and it rocked my world.

On another note, the Twins have won 4 series in a row, and they've won 9 of 12. Hopefully we can keep it up, but take advatage of Tiger losses.

We've been keeping it together over the last couple weeks or so, hopefully we can continue to move up on the Tigers and to play well.

Well 3 good Twins related things happened today:

1.) The Twins handed a loss to Halladay and picked up a game on the Tigers(5.5 games back now)

2.) Morneau finally ended his homerless drought by cranking out #30 and plating his 100th RBI of 2009

3.) Misplaced this card some time ago, rediscovered it today, pretty happy:

Was also watching a Puckett Ball inscribed HOF 2001 on ebay and was suprised to see how much it went for. Its been so long since I've bought one that I didn't realize how much his departing had affected the price. I picked up all 6 of mine with various inscriptions for 80-120 a pop. This one ended at  $211. Its nice to see his cards and auto's are holding value, if not increasing

Hey guys, sorry to bust in on your thread, but I wanted to see if anyone here could use a Matt Macri press plate from 04 Bowman Draft or an Adam Harben 05 BC Gold Refractor 9.5. I'm clearing out a bunch of cards and figured I would see if any Twins fans wanted these. Send me a PM if you can use either.

How do you misplace an awesome card like that? :o Really nice! Things have been really dry on the Gaetti front for the past couple of months, but there's a couple of promising items out there now, so stay tuned!

And you're right, it was nice to beat Halladay, and Justin to get off the schnide, and reach 30/100. maybe now he'll relax more, and hit better. He's been trying to get over that hump for so long.

Maybe we should start a new one since we rat and rave about the 2009 season so much. We have an all new season to shout about!

Speaking of pick ups, I just won my first Gary Gaetti "Circle G" auto in months--probably 7 or 8! There's another that ends tonight, so we'll see about that. When they're in hand, I'll make a new scan and post.

Did you happen to sell your copy of that card? I just picked one of those up at the shop down in Rochester.

Yeah, maybe we should get another going. Maybe you, Stan M or Perkins fanatic can start a fresh one. Too many pics in here now don't work and Flight doesn't post much anymore. This weekend I'll take some pics of recent Twins stuff I have in.

Born in MN
Played for Gophers
Drafted by Twins.

Simple as that... He is not my favorite player, but it's a helluva lot cheaper than buying up Josh Hamilton stuff...

There is Derek McAllum, and Nate Hanson (and someone else too...) in recent years, but Perk has the most stuff and his stuff is cheap. I have maybe put $100-$150 into my collection and it is pretty big. I spent $10 yestereday and got 3 Ft. Myers cards (one of which is signed) and about 30 other base cards. I am expecting a 2009 Bowman Chrome Blue Refractor to come in, and the Opening Day auto.

I do know he is a big jerk, but hopefully he turns it around. I hope to meet him at TwinsFest. I am going to buy a GU jersey before meeting him and maybe he will see he is lucky to have a fan and he might be a little nicer (kinda a throw to home in the dark). IDK what I am going to have him sign yet... probably just a card or a ball.

I don't expect him to do any better than he is now, so I don't plan on making retirement on my collection, and I am putting in WAY more money than it will be worth with all of the slabbing and autograph authentication... but it keeps me occupied. For years I aimlessly collected whatever was out there, and if I can pool my funds together into a player collection, then when I am all said and done, I will be happier knowing that I accomplished something.

I agree with the last part you said. All I did was collect the Topps sets and buy random packs to try and get something cool. Since I realized that I spent a lot of my money and didn't have too much to show for it I decided to start a player collection as well. I also have been picking up Twins prospects too. Although the packs and blasters I opened were a lot of fun, this way I'm getting a lot of nice stuff, while still buying the occasional blaster. I'm not really rich enough to afford hobby stuff so I do what I can with what I have.
