I hope he really didn't commit this murder, and if he did kill someone, I hope that it was in self defense.

So.... yeah. I'm going to assume you just said that to look smart?

Will not comment on the Angel part of it but Jose Tabata is not his age. He is around 26.

With Angel, he could serve about 6 years and still have a career. His age difference is not that big. He could be another Braulio Castillo and restart his career in the Independent League as a 39 year old who spent 7 years in a Dominican Prison for drug traficking.

Castillo then when on to play in the movie Sugar.

Oh my goodness are you serious? WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE OF THIS?

Bolded, capitalized, italicized, and underlined.

I find it quite amusing when people speculate that a player is older than he claims, and act like their speculation makes it a reality. Show us the proof instead of just saying it.

or we can wait and I can remind you how old I told you he was and then we can both chuckle about it.

Or Tabata may take me to court for slander 1st

Which one ever happens 1st.

Tabata does not care what you say, and there wouldn't be any damages because it's just some guy mouthing off on the internet.

Guess what? You don't need any evidence to prove this. You've already proven you're insane.

People always tend to judge the wrong doer before the victim. We don't even know the full facts of this case yet and people are calling for this kid's head. I don't know about any Dominican law, but hopefully Angel acted in self defense if he did indeed kill this man. It sounds like that the D.R. is a crazy ass place and what if the guy was drunk and pulled a knife on him? You obviously must let the jury decide the young mans fate and by reading the early reports in this case, it seems like that they have the wrong guy. Why would Villalona turn himself in and now claim innocence? It sounds like a self defense case in my book.

Judge Aranibal Manzano Zapata ordered Villalona jailed for two months while authorities prepare their case in the Dominican Republic.

Maybe because he knows if he runs he will get more years? Its funny how people think he is innocent because he turned himself in.

Here's the latest on the case:

The judge ordered him locked up for two months as attorneys prepare their case.

Sounds like a safe way to go about things. I hope it comes out that he acted in self defense because this will turn the tides big time.
Wait he's innocent for now? Will he be tried (sp) again later? Or is in the clear?

He pleaded innocent versus pleading guilty, He will be tried in 2 months or so most likely.

He claimed innocence for the accusation against him. He isn't out of the woods by any means.

He hit the ball too far for anyone to notice that he probably was about as educated as a 5th grader.

You can say that about 99% of the pro athletes in North America. And that's probably a conservative estimate.

That, and slander only applies to verbal communication. Libel is what he'd be guilty of.

But it's not unheard of for someone in the public eye to sue someone for talking smack about them on the innarnets. Thing is, even if you could prove damages, there are no deep pockets here. It's just some kid on the messageboard who works at Taco Bell. Unless Tabata likes Cheesy Gordita Crunches, there's nothing he can do about some faceless schmo running his mouth on the intarwebs.
