Please tape your freaking top loaders (or put it in a team bag) when you send a card...THANK YOU.  ::facepalm::

As long as you loop the tape over on itself, it works well and is easy to get of. Without that, I agree with you. I just hate using team bags because my cat chews 'em up all the time.

Anything to keep the card from falling out...I just opened a bubble mailer and it's the worst feeling to see the top part of the card "hanging out" of the toploader. I haven't inspected the card yet, but I hope there is no damage.

Now that its been introduced, how many thread will have face palms in them? I'm not sure I've seen more than a couple of threads without one in it.

On to the subject, I agree, its not much to ask!

The best shipping product out there is bubble bags. I ship everything in them. They are just like team bags, but are made of bubble wrap and can fit multiple toploaders and even graded cards. Also saves you the trouble of putting packing materials like peanuts in.

If one has no team bags there is a simple solution. Wrap the holder in paper and tape the paper. No mucking up the top loader and no chance of the card slipping in the case and getting stuck to the tape.

Great suggestion. I do this from time to time when I don't have team bags for some reason. It works really well.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE tape. Mucks up a perfectly good toploader, can catch the top of the card, creates more environmental waste, etc. Then you get the freaks who use the industrial strength tape that requries you to use scissors/a knife to 'free' the card- which means you can damage the card. Then you get the OCD people who use a ton of cardboard + go tape happy all over the toploader bazillion times. DOWN W/TAPE  Seriously, if a card's in a toploader + teambag (or wrapped in paper), it should be ok.

Am I the only one here that puts all cards received from eBay in new or slightly used toploaders?

I've done that before if I can't find any team bags.

Agreed Messier! I've had cards sent to me in just a penny sleeve with styrofoam in a bubbIe mailer before. But I use tape and a team bag on all my shipments.

I have often heard the argument that the seller does not have to provide you a new toploader or that its not their responsibility to make sure the toploader is new or reusable or up to a buyers standards when sending a card in one.My beef with that statement(not that anyone has made it yet in this thread) is that its a total waste because if I receive a card with a taped toploader the toplader is going in the trash no matter what.Even when the tape is folded over it still leaves a stickey residue and I have a lot of cards in my collection that are just in penny sleeves so when you put a toploader in with these they tend to stick to the toploader and pulling them apart(especially after they have been stuck together for quite a while) can damage the card.

My question is...why ruin a toploader? If you are going to be courteous enough to use a toploader please don't tape it.Use some other method.I can't count with a calculator how many brand new toploaders I have trashed because of this.It makes no sense.

True. If nothing else you masking tape. It comes off with no sticky residue.

In general, this is probably my #1 pet peeve when it comes to buying cards. I HATE tape on the toploader.

I have ZERO problem with tape. A teambag is just a bonus. I'm not paying for a toploader. I reuse most toploaders, and only PC items go into new ones.

I have tried it but if you leave the tape on it and you just break the seal then the tape sticks to your card every time you try to take it out or it gets moved around enough to hit the tape at the top and if you peel some of it beck it leave the residue on the toploader thereby sticking to anything next to it.Its the reason I ditch them.Otherwise I'd reuse all of them.I don't care if they are a little beat up or scuffed.I just don't like them sticking to things.

My real issue with it is that it is completely unnecessary and can potentially damage the card. If one can not afford a piece of paper to wrap around the toploader, then mayhaps baseball cards is not the hobby for them. It bugs me more when I trade than when I buy though. I send a perfectly reusable holder and team bag but I get a team bag with seven rolls of tape wrapped around it and the only way to remove the contents is to destroy the bag.
