Today's mail just proves PSA is going to PSA. All five of these items are the exact same dimensions yet I ended up with 3 different size slabs.

2 N*gro League and Baseball Hall of Fame members and one N*gro Leaguer that should be considered got the regular postcard slab treatment.

I trimmed the Luciano down to make sure it would fit in a regular postcard slab and it got tossed in a check slab.

The Riebe is a standard sized postcard like the Kimbro and got a huge slab and sleeve.

Excited to pick up this Clemente patch card, as I've been looking for one that was reasonably priced for quite some time.

I don't believe the card companies will ever cut up another jersey of the biggest names (thankfully), which means that they won't be producing more cards like this one.

(An exception are GU pants which may still be cut up. A pair of Ty Cobb GU pants just sold $31K at Lelands and I would be surprised if a card company did not buy it)

Adding to my 2021 Topps Finest Pink Purple Vapor Refractor /3 collection. While I already do have the Goldschmidt #'d 2/3 I could not pass up the opportunity of a PSA 10......will try to offload my duplicate to offset the cost of the new acquisition.

I misread and thought this set was all members of 500 HR club at the time, but apparently it is only those 6 shown. Weak move by AP, but maybe they planned additional sets. Maybe they issued additional sets? I don't know, but these full gold surfaces are cool none the less. s-l1600-12.jpg

Several small oddball sets, but this is the only one that warrants mention. s-l1600-1.jpg

Nice little mail day today

I'm slowing adding to my 1989 Perez Steele Celebrations set by replacing unsigned copies with signed copies as I can.

2023 Topps Series 1 Meijer Purple SP Ryan Helsley - This rainbow is now done other than base (of all things) and the Platinum 1/1.

1939 Churchman's Kings of Speed - I got two of these in from London today. The first set was about average condition for the year and set but the second was quite a bit better than usual. I've got a figure out a good way to take scans of minis. None of them are nearly as scratched up as the top load I used to center them in the scanner would make you believe.

Card show pickups (the 150 year medallion is /25 and was base card cheap or I wouldn't grab one usually, Textbook Triple was actually fairly pric6e for 30 as opposed to the insanity prices of these last 3 years on eBay) and then trade results with a fellow Rocket collector, Black refractor and platinum blue addition highlights. It was a good day Tater!

Thank you. I had not taken the time to do any research on the set further, but didn't recall seeing them in the almanac.

Today brought a nice little addition for me. I am nervous about these early autos because of how they were not marked in any way (emboss, stamp, serial number, etc). I do know the Auto gold card was golden in background and the regular cards were yellow. However, I have seen unsigned gold cards too, which only adds to the nervousness in picking one up. I don't think the unsigned gold card was available w/o signature under normal circumstances. I tired buying one a long time back, before he died, but had set myself a certain spending limit and was always just getting edged out.

Been pretty busy this month so the pickups have slowed.

2022 Donruss Retro '88 Gold Auto 07/10 Miguel Tejada - reminds me of the jack-o-lantern 1988 Donruss Baseball's Best set so I had to grab it. The colors aren't exact but it definitely makes you think of that set. Also a 2001 Topps Employee Jason Giambi.
