Buying would increase. I'm 100% in the hobby for the fun of it, and realize I'm losing money on every purchase. Extra pocket cash means I'm filling some serious holes in my personal collection.
My kind of guy.

I would collect cards at a greater rate but I would be more focused on singles rather than trying to pull them out of packs. I would pick up more of a variety of players' cards if I had the jack. And I would invent waterproof cases that resist spills and dribbles ;)

After I made sure my family and friends were taken care of, I'd buy everyone on the FCB their white whale and then go absolutely wild buying any other cards that struck my fancy. I'd also complete a 1975 Topps set in PSA 8 or higher as that was the first set I opened/collected as well as other full Topps sets through the years.
So not much would change :)

Me too. I sell to sustain my habit. If I won $100 million, I would buy a bigger house and have a room to house my collection in.

I would likely collect cards at a greater rate.

A "budget" would not be an issue for some of my collections then. That said, I wouldn't go hog-wild (buying all kinds of $1000+ cards, for example) but I would finish off my 500 HR Club collection and go after a few rare cards for my player collections.

$100 million, what is that, $45 million after taxes?

I'd buy every Wagner I could. Including the Siegel one, I could probably buy 15 for $20 million.

I'd buy every major Superfractor I could, which would probably run well under $1 million.

I'd buy every MLB logo, NBA logoman, NFL shield, and NHL shield of every star player. Cost would be around $100k (assuming I purchased a few of the Lebron/Kobe/MJ Exquisite duals). And that's talking a complete run of all superstars from all sports

I'd buy a lot of famous/rare vintage cards - '52 Topps Mantle, N162 Beecher (first football card), '35 National Chicle Rockne and Nagurski, 68 Topps 3D Clemente, 33 Goudey Lajoie, C55 Vezina, 55 Quaker Oats Jacques Plante, '14 Baltimore News Ruth, N172 Old Judge Anson (in uniform), Four Base Hits Kelly....buying low/mid grade would be around a million.

I'd buy high end cut autos of the five inaugural members of the HOF. Cost would probably be $25k or so.

I'd finish my Jeff Conine collection. Cost: maybe $500 bucks, and that's from Burbank

That's $22,025,500. I'd spend the next $474,500 buying every major superstar rookie in PSA 9 from 1955-present

And that would leave me with exactly half of the $100m after taxes

No, if I was in the hobby for the money, I would be making money, not losing it.

If I had that kind of coin my hobbies would probably change from cards and music to traveling to baseball stadiums and concerts.

That would be cool.

I would buy vintage GU items, and every major RC (gem) since the beginning.

I hate to say it, but I'm fairly certain that after a loooooong vacation, I'd turn into "that guy" who currently pisses me off on eBay at least once a week by bidding waaaaaay too much for PC cards.

Exactly!! :) Me too!!

Cases. Lots & lots of cases.

I'd also start buying up entire print runs when possible, i.e. 1-25 of /25.

That would be sweet.

Alone in my castle.

I would have the best SIG ever too.

I wouldn't buy anymore cards for the boys than I do now....and that's practically none, really. But...man, the baseball/sports room and be MUCH bigger and full of baseballs from ALL ages!! Their autographed baseball collection would be unlike any other!! That would probably only take about $5 or 6 million to get a bigger house and get it ready for all of the baseballs and buy the baseballs.

Then I'd buy MUCH better photography equipment and travel with the Diamonbacks for the whole 162 games. Taking LOTS of photos.

:)

Wow, two prospectors have now voted ;)

Seriously I like what someone else said - I'd open a chain of stores. Too bad most of them would be out of business in a couple years :?

I'd be buying under an alias so you guys wouldn't know it's me. But you probably WOULD know it's me, since all of a sudden there wouldn't be a single Yount card on the market being bought by anyone else. Braun too probably.

I'd also probably start sending out insane charity packages to you guys.

Also, Chris would get all the funds he needed to keep this site running forever.

Then, lastly, I'd try and corner the market on some prospect, just to see what would happen to the prices; call it an economic experiment. Not some scrub either, probably a Brewer 1st rounder.

I get a high getting the cards I want; not really b/c of their value, but because I have an addictive personallity and I'm a collector.
