I'm the sister. You're correct and it's our family and friends buying Ashur Tolliver's cards. Gotta love fan support.
God bless

Congrats to you and your family.

And congrats to me, cause now I can finally pick one up for under $15 soon. ;)

Wish I hadn't been so busy this past week - completely forgot about listing my Tolliver stuff.

Going to throw an auto and a Red status on the Bay. If I get $38 total for both, I'm good with that.

Wow, awesome gesture by Panini! Now the next handful of generations of your family can have some too!

We are very proud of Ashur. Y'all might want to consider holding onto one! He's projected to do really well. He completed his first short season last year with a 0 ERA and just left for spring training Monday morning. Keep him (and his left arm) in your prayers! He shares an agent with our fellow Arkansans Cliff Lee and AJ Burnette. Who knows?!?! We are very excited though about the possibilities over the next few years!

P.S. Dad (a.k.a. backbone) you're not too incognito. "I'm a family member..." bla bla bla....you're the proud Daddy! Come on now! :)

Panini gives anyone they use free cards if requested. Guess who took the photograph they used on his rookie card? ;) We are very proud of Ashur. Y'all might want to consider holding onto one! I think I can say, with 100 percent certainty, that AutumnTolliver has the best avatar on this board.

You know, you should enlarge that and make it your signature so its a little bigger for us to gawk at.

But for real, did Ashur sign anything else in terms of stickers or cards for future products?
Maybe Bowman or......us prospectors hope.......some Upper Deck product?

Haha y'all are crazy! I better change the avatar...I don't want to embarrass my brother! :D And backbone is our dad...it's his username on everything. And he signed some personal items for friends/family (baseballs, the un-numbered cards DonRuss sent us, etc.) but nothing professionally.

Not a bad 2nd pic either ;) Lol I'll definitely follow his career tho. Congrats on having a gifted brother!

What's a "sleeper?"

A sleeper is a prospect that isnt highly rated (by that, I mean considered a "top prospect") that scouts/reporters/writers believe has a chance of making an impact in the bigs

Very cool! I read somewhere that if he develops his third pitch, he could potentially be top 10 in something by next year...will have to do some research so don't quote me!

This is from Baseball America

After transferring from Arkansas-Little Rock to NAIA power Oklahoma City this year, the lefthanded Tolliver caught the attention of scouts when his fastball topped out at 96 mph early in the spring. He’s not big at 6 feet and 170 pounds, and he wore down, with his fastball sitting at 88-92 mph as the draft approached. His changeup is his best secondary pitch, ahead of his curveball.

...and this is from Sickles

Ashur Tolliver: He signed in 2009 as an overslot signee in the fifth round making three scoreless appearances striking out 7 in eight innings of work. According to the scouting report he has an 88-93 fastball, a change-up and a slider. As a lefty the fastball is in the right range, so it should be at least average to above-average. It apparently hit 96 early in the college season which means he could become a second power lefty after Matusz. According to Baseball America his change-up is his best secondary pitch. He played for NAIA power Oklahoma City after transferring from Arkansas-Little Rock and posting an ERA of 2.17 in relief in the Cape Cod league. Apparently he's pretty small listed as 6 ft and 170 pounds. He will need to either improve or develop a good breaking ball if he wants to make it as a starter. Either way he could very easily end up in the top 10 next season with a power fastball and a good changeup and whatever he settles on as his breaking ball.

In all fairness he legitimately looked 12 when he came into the league.
