In the words of this announcer I used to watch on TWIB...."How about that!"

2006 SP Legendary Cuts Mel Allen Cut Auto /67 -- My first ever cut autograph. I've stayed away until now, but they have grown on me lately. Seeing the lack luster cut autographs from Topps like this, and this really makes these older UD cards shine. The gold foiling, the font choices as well as the full description and small touches on the back like the microphone logo as well as the HOF logo make this card certainly worth the premium over a certified plain index card.

Mel Allen has just a dozen cut autograph releses streching from 2003 to now. All other releases are very limited and have a combined print run of 70 copies, making this the easiest to find. Within this year, there a bunch of cancelled checks, but I prefer this plain background even though the edges aren't perfectly flush.

I picked this up for my Monument Park honoree autograph run. I added a DiMaggio last year, then Munson and now Allen. I have a few more "lower-end" guys like Dickey, Stengel, McCarthy, Gomez, Ruffing to find. I will aim to get one of each of the different designs from 2001-2007 SP Legendary Cuts to complete a "type collection" of sorts. So far, I have 13 of the 37 players/managers so far with another big one on the way. I have yet to seriously chase easier guys like Willie Randolph, Guidry, Reggie as well, trying to find the perfect copy to have, whether a signed vintage card or moder on-card autograph release. The big three, Ruth, Gehrig and Jackie will take time.

Had one arrive yesterday
2004 Bowman Refractor. At a reasonable price as well. 99% of my ebay watchlist aee cards listed at 2-20x comps.
This card has BINs of $100 raw to 3k graded. I waited and snagged it for less than $30 shipped. I dont believe that as the hobby "grows" were seeing prices rise. Were seeing impatient people and stupid money

Topps really went all out with the 1/1s for 2025 Heritage Dual Relics. It literally looks exactly like a base card with a 1/1 stamp that's kind of hidden in Ryan's picture.

I've bought playing era Ruth's this year but this may be my 2nd favorite pickup of the year so far behind my 1999 Fleer Starting 9 /9. The 1998 Stadium Club First Day Issue are /200 but they were a retail only parallel and they're a pain in the butt to find. I don't know any player collector who actually thinks there are 200 copies out there. This is the first Frye I've ever seen.

1999 SI Greats of the Game Eddie Mathews - I've been slowly picking up pieces to this set for a couple years and decided to start focusing on it a little more. Gotta love the first issue Sports Illustrated image used for the auto card.

I need to find a few Maravich books that are reasonably priced to make a few more sets, but this completes 1 set now

Another Philly auto for the run, Jerod Mayo. I am starting to think I may just try to make the full set, although I have never seen a couple star players that might break the bank if they showed.

Lastly, scratched another off the 1997 Emerald Auto want list, a EX Rolen Redemption card
