It's been a pretty good couple months since I last posted any successes. So, here we go (pics coming later):

I took MrMet's advice and emailed Lee Child for a b-plate...so, that came. Thanks for the heads up.
No Higher Honor - Condi Rice
Spoken From the Heart - Laura Bush
One More Time - Carol Burnett (not a 100% on this one...still verifying it's for real)
Cookbook (can't remember title) - Patti LaBelle bookplate
My Movie Business - John Irving
Countdown to Lockdown - Mick Foley
Something by Oscar Hijuelos (it's in the car...just found it yesterday)

I'm sure there's more but, I haven't taken stock in a while. Need to get on that...

See ya guys and gals!

A couple of pickups this week:

Patricia Cornwell - Jack the Ripper:CaseClosed
John Tesh - don't remember which book
Tony Dungy - UnCommon (bookplate)
Pat Conroy - My Losing Season...second one of these I've found this month

I love our used bookstore in town. People just don't look when they go to trade books. For example, there were Two Pat Summitt signed books (her new one)...I passed on them because they were 14 bucks and I already have like 5 Summitt's. People just don't look, which works out for me!

Take care folks.
Peace
J

...well done Josh!! I've hit a a dry spell of late. No pick-ups of note other than a Chacka Khan (sp??) signed book. I'd be interested in the Conroy so hang on to it for our next trade.;)

.....thanks Josh!!

As you know, hunting for signed books can be both cool and weird. I love the thrill of opening a book with the hope that it might be signed. It's funny how many of the same book you find at various thrift shops- there are always Sarah Palin's Going Rouge, Oprah/Bob Greene's book from years ago, various Dr. Phil and Suzie Orman books, ton's of Bob Woodward books. I am sure I am missing a couple of others that I see regularly.

I'm still looking for a Woodward. I see those book's signed by Bob Greene all the time (I got one and always pass on more) but haven't found one with Oprah's signature in it yet. So, yeah, it can be funny when you see many of the same book. I'll grab duplicates if they are good (Conroy, Paul Theroux, Pat Summitt, and Preston & Child, for example) but many times I'll leave them for the next guy/gal! Haven't stumbled on a Palin, oddly enough because I know she signed TONS of those books...

....I've never found any of those signed but have opened up likely a hundred of 'em. I always find in Maine, signed books by Travis Roy, a hockey player paralyzed on his first college shift playing for Boston Univ. The book is a good read so if anyone wants one in a trade or for reasonable price let me know.

Cemetery Dance

Never got up to that one. If it was Cabinet of Curiosities I would have been all over it. That was the first one I read (unfortunately out of order) then I read them all from the beginning and don't remember where I stopped, but I started losing interest quick

Hey Guys! It's been a while so there is a new batch of finds to report:

Brandi Chastain, It's Not About the Bra
Fran Tarkenton, Every Day is Game Day
Dick Vitale, Holding Court
Oscar Hijuelos, ...don't remember the name off the top of my head
Wolfgang Puck, Pizza, Pasta, and More
Oliver North, War Stories II
John Tesh, Intelligence for Your Life
Tony Dungy, Uncommon

Doesn't seem like a bad lot, but considering it is MONTHS worth of hunting, I am a bit disappointed. I'd really like to find something big but it keeps eluding me...

Take care, fellas.

Man I had forgotten I already posted Dungy and Tesh...so it's actually a smaller haul. I did forget to tell you all about a Nathaniel Philbrick that was waterdamaged...but the autograph was in-tact. So, now that's a cut auto. I feel like I rescued it!!! Haha.

BTW...hope you are well MrMet!

I'm good, and you?

I recently grabbed some books from a house we were cleaning out (can't bear to throw books away) and found this

Doing good, thanks. That's a pretty interesting find. An Alcatraz auto? Something unique for the collection for sure!
