Greetings bookhunters! Found myself back on the hunt over the past week. Had a decent turnout, too. Just thought I would share...

John Glenn: A Memoir signed by Mr. Glenn himself
A Simple Gov't and A Simple Christmas both signed by Mike Huckabee (both of these are FOR TRADE)
One Soldier's Story signed by Bob Dole (on bookplate)
A Portrait of a Spy signed by Daniel Silva
and
Legacy of Winning signed by Phil Fulmer and co-author (can't remember the name)

Not a bad haul.

Well done with the Glenn and Dole Josh!!

I scored a 4 books today, stopping at local Salvation Army and other thrift store on a whim. One book is signed by a local gentlemen, since deceased, who served in General Patton's unit in WWII- unsigned sold for $50 on EBAY. I payed $.49 for signed book:

Up Front with U s Day by Day in The Life of A Combat Infantryman | eBay

Other 3 are signed books by Lawrence Welk, Oliver North and Pat Robertson- paid $2.00 combined for all 3 (plus tax) ;)

Nice finds. I've been on the hunt for Oliver North but one hasn't turned up yet. I'm sure it will...

I was also at the Goodwill for a different reason and flipped through their books. Found a James Carville signed book (can't remember the name of the book) but it's signed on a bookplate. Not bad because I wasn't out looking. It cost a buck.

I'd double check the Pat Robertson. I bought two that I thought were signed, but they were just bookplates that printed his handwriting and signature.

It took me buying 2 of the same book to figure that out.

If you need Ollie, I believe he signs TTM. Send him a bookplate.

Of course, the thrill of the hunt makes it more fun.

Taylor, you are spot-on....the book plate looks like it was signed but it is an exact match to these (and a bunch more on EBAY).....

Going to a Nelson Demille book signing tonight, I'll be getting his new one, The Quest, and I have all my paperback copies of his John Corey series signed, but I recently picked them all up in hardcover too, so I'll be bringing those along. Possibly might pick up a copy of Howie Roses new Mets book too. This place gets everyone to come in and sign, great collection of signed books there.

Wow. DeMille really hooked you up! I like his book Plum Island...it was a fun read. I hope that he was a cool guy, in person. Great pickups!

DeMille is a great guy, obviously it's the second time I've met him. I absolutely love the John Corey character from his books (all the ones I posted except the Quest), possibly one of my favorite literary characters. If you enjoyed Plum Island I really recommend the rest, and they are working on turning Plum Island into a tv mini series, or whatever you call it, 6 one hour episodes. Aaron Eckhart playing Corey, I'm really looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, my grandparents passed away over the past couple years.

Today, I was going through a box of their books, and I actually found one signed to my grandma.

Walking is - John Pleas

I thought I found one signed by Harold Bell Wright, but it wasn't. Just a pre-print.

Hey foiks. So, I need a little help. I was fishing around the bookstore (as usual). I came across a paperback, albeit a large paperback, you know the oversize ones...anyway, this one was The Downing Street Years by Margaret Thatcher. The book was signed on the title page by Maggie...in blue. The only blue on in this book was the signature and another copy of the same book didn't have the sig so I know it's not a preprint. Anyway...does this 1) look real to you all. it does to me but I'd like second opinions. and 2) do authors regularly sign paperback editions of their work? Let me know what you all think.

Thanks all!

I'm still researching the Maggie T. The eBay comparisons look legit. However, I'm trying to do a further search on whether she signed this particular edition and such. Thanks for the thumbs up. I'd tell you what I paid for it but it would make you crap your pants...sooooooo cheap.
