I'm happy Lyles made it, but no Freeman is a joke.

First off, I'm glad to see the Astros represented by 2 player's on the Hot Sheet (WOW, I believe that's a record)! And I absolutely LOVE that they brought up the truth in how they doubted M.Taylor (that right there is almost as sweet as his #5 rank on the Hot Sheet this week)! :D Here's thier statement ("The Scoop") from BA's Hot List on Michael Taylor:

"When Taylor got off to a scorching start in low Class A last year, some skeptics (OK, we'd have to be included in that group) wondered what Taylor would do against more advanced competition. Wonder no more, Taylor has improved his slugging percentage on every step up the ladder and is hitting .337/.399/.574 at Reading this year. But his best attribute may be his consistency—Taylor has hit better than .330 in all but one month over the past year and a half."

Gotta give BA prop's on that write-up (admitting they were part of the skeptic's/doubter's), & IMO was a part of the reason they neglected Taylor week in & week out on the Hot Sheet (as since then I've noticed that they've allowed 21/22 ry old's from High-A , though that was thier excuse for not putting him on the actual hot sheet itself though they did put him in the "Men Among Boy's" feature on several account's)!
GREAT Hot Sheet (2 Stros, M.Taylor, & K.Drabek made it)!!! :D

Damn you Razor!

I was hoping for them to release the Lyles Metal autographs weeks ago. Sadly, the base Metal autographs just got posted today.

BA hints that Kyle could see Philly late this year. Do you guys think that's too soon?

Clearly BA has a bias toward some guys. Freeman being in the team photo and so far down in the top 100 is insane, and Weglarz is extremely overrated in my opinion. Outside of OBP, I just haven't seen much from this kid. And 1 awesome month in his fourth season of pro ball is just not that impressive. Again, with the exception of OBP he seems to be very streaky. I know tools, projections, etc are a big player, and maybe it just took him awhile to get going. I hope so, as I've got a decent amount of his stuff. I'll gladly eat crow if he keeps this up!

A board member got his 2 cents in:

Super Dave (FCBville): Just curious as to why Freddie Freeman has gotten the snub 2 weeks in a row (although he was obviously worthy to be on the list)?

Matthew Eddy: Freeman cracked the Team Photo this time and would have earned a top 13 ranking if his week hadn't been interrupted by the all-star game. He was great on a rate basis, but playing in only four games makes it hard to accumulate counting numbers.

The fact that he has already matched his HIGH A production numbers in 40 less games in AA is a great sign for his progression as a player. Also, his pitch selection and K:BB ratio seems to get better each year.

Just because he isn't being rushed to MLB doesn't mean he is overrated by any means.

I agree to a certain extent, but being that he's in his fourth season I don't find it all that impressive. And I think we would both agree that he would be rushed to Cleveland if his numbers up to this point warranted the move.

 I'm not a huge Freddie fan but I admit this guy has been pretty dang good (& basically right out of the gates at such a young age)...he's been snubbed & I can't stand when BA does that (I threw fit's all last year when they did this to Taylor, so I can relate to the frustration that the Freddie fan's feel)! Either way, as I've learned, if that player continues thier "beastly" way's they will eventually reap the rewards (& so will all of the faithful fan's & prospector's alike whom stuck by them)!!! ;) :D

4th full season and he is just 21 years old. I don't think that is any knock against him.

I also disagree that he would have been fast tracked with better stats. Cleveland just doesn't seem to operate that way, just like many other teams. I think Weglarz is on the perfect track to sticking in the middle of the CLE lineup for a long time.

By the way, what do you have stashed away? If you don't want to post it here, send me a PM.

Wow, they answered 2 of my question's this week (but have ignored all of my attempts to ask on M.Taylor)...."Gilligan Skip" was my 2nd question about Luebke & his mechanic's (or what Luebke possibly changed/corrected to produce the way he is this year as opposed to the train wreck last year). :D
