....thanks for including those extra Purple ones in Rookie Retro, Leaf.

Makes me wish I hadn't ever told ya'll about the lottery laws that would have doomed your initial Rookie Retro...

Can you please let us know in advance when the Metal Pete Rose, the Metal Leaf Valiant, and the Valiant Leaf Metal Draft will be coming out, and what product they'll be released in, or on their own?

THanks!

It's not like Topps doesn't do the same stuff. Just when you think you've got THE card of a guy, BOOM, here's a variation that kills the old one.

I don't see a problem with BG inserting the purple Ichiro's into his new product. That isn't really doing anything to the value of Valiant or Metal, IMO. It is just a few Ichiro's that weren't going to be included in Metal or Valiant to begin with.

Now, speaking of Valiant and Metal value-I cannot believe how much the completed listings have dropped for both Metal and Valiant. Yes, the natural thing is for cards to start out selling at their peak, with a decline to follow-but the decline from Metal and Valiant completed auctions on eBay is much worse than I expected.

yeh, especially this year, seems ebay has been flooded with superfractors more than any other year, and they are starting to overdo the canary as well with all the new releaeses imo

That's not even what I was talking about, but the Canarys are a good example.

Consider that if Pujols played in 1980, he'd only have a single card...

...but Pujols had 2000 cards in 2005 but 'only' 600 cards last year. Talking about flooding!

Flooding is nothing new, its just that manufacturers and shop owners so far know how to market cards to get people to buy them (so far).

Yeah, I just don't see the problem-especially if BG announced this would happen. Even if he didn't announce this, I don't see how it is an issue. Purples were never going to be in Metal or Valiant.

Just playing devils advocate here, but can you dig up on the LEAF web site, or any Leaf affiliated source like his FaceBook page, where he announced this?

Or is a blurb on a messageboard considered an "announcement" these days?

And sticking with apples/apples, has topps chrome or bowman chrome ever released a prospect auto, albiet a different parallel, in a different product?

Topps always inserts parallels of their Bowman Chrome cards in different variants in different sets.

Just the other day I pulled a Purple Bowman CHrome Harper auto out of Topps Tier One.

How about the people who pulled a Topps Series 1 Hope Diamond out of Topps Updates and Highlights, or the people who pulled a Heritage Chrome out of Topps Chrome?

We are talking prospect auto cards here, yes there is some resemblance in what your saying, but it's not a apples/apples comparison.

Not quite the same thing, but Topps gave out un-auto'd AFLACs at the game, then inserted auto'd versions in Draft.

Ok, how about Ackley having 2 first bowman chrome autographed cards.

Was one inserted in Topps Tripple Threads? Were they both the exact same card, from the same set?

Topps did that with the Team USA 18U team in the wrapper redemptions. Also this was as JP posted revealed 2 months ago, so if it was such a big deal people could have refrained from purchasing.

Look at Pro Debut autos where they cut an AFLAC and then inserted the uncut AFLAC in to Bowman Draft like Turner. This was announced. There are 50 total cards inserted per player, if that destroys an investment in a product that is insane.
