That is for sure two of the shops referenced Used Car Salesman in their opinions

And A_Pharis you hit it on the head, he can say just give this product time when no way a sane man believes it will increase in value

I may be misunderstanding your position, but are you saying that no sane man believes that cards from Leaf releases (specifically Valiant) will increase over time? If so I think there's plenty of insane people around, and I'll include myself in that group. Having seen the cards, the caliber of prospects included and the price point, I would be very surprised if the players that do well do not offer great returns. Of course a large part of that stems from the fact that not everyone is sold on Leaf. More risk = more potential reward.

To the level of returns that BG thinks, and definitely more risk more reward. But more hijink BG pulls smaller his consumer base becomes

At least some of us aren't passive aggressive, Anthony. I call a duck a duck.

Edit: By the way, I am "late" to this thread, because I spent the day doing more than combing the FCB boards. That doesn't mean I'm not entitled to say my piece on a public forum.

This thread is one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to fcb.
Please lock it down someone.

You must be new.

nope, youre wrong.
Formally 011873 and on this site since it originated

are you indeed embarrassed to enter a public forum, as a business owner, who is commenting on supposed embarrassing events, yet you cannot distinguish between the words formerly and formally?
you should indeed be embarrassed. thirty years of experience should have given you a better grip of this language that we call english.

as for this threads subject matter, the cards (all of leaf's issues to date) are ugly as crap, the subjects (prospecting material) don't appeal to me, and the company head is smug to say the least. he might be a cool guy, but this is not helping that image at the moment.

No, but you are gonna see all kinds of colors of Chrome refractors in retail version and other funny topps packs at wally-world...
The fact is, not EVERYONE agrees with you. To claim you are the Almighty Spokesman for the hobbyist community as a whole is laughable...
To each their own, but with your crusades (pun intended) its overly dramatic.
I dont need the drama, Ive heard what you have to say and its been noted... Move on.

this may be the most ironic statement ever posted on this board

I was just going to say this same thing.

You know Brian, I dont have a dog in this fight but, as someone who is a figurehead of a card company you really come off sometimes as a jerk. You would be so much better to just state your case and not get into a pissing contest with someone who may say anything against your product. You turn many people off to your company and your product when you act like a spoiled child. You are trying to earn these people's hard earned dollars so maybe as the head of a "major" card company you might want to act a bit more upstanding and businesslike.

Bad when you can walk into three card shops in three states and say his name and get the same Groan, and then trying to defend him as good for the hobby (which I will never do again) is a waste of breath

Let me just say that when I owned my shop and Brian owned Edgeman I was a big customer. He had great deals and certainly ran a good company and I had zero complaints from the dealings I had with Brian and his crew. I just hate to see someone who I know has business skills diminish his reputation by acting a fool on a message board with people who may disparage his product. I know allot of heart and soul goes into his products and it may hurt when someone says they dont like something he may have poured everything into but he is not winning customers and their dollars with the way he acts.

You know what, I agree.
Arguing with people who either (1) do not patronize our company and/or (2) only argue to get a rise our of me is not in my future.
Obviously, my passion is mistaken for cockiness.
I care about this business and I honestly feel we do a great job with our products.

With that being said, I will continue to defend my products/actions till the end. I just won't do it on a message board.
If you wish to discuss my products or offer constructive criticism, please feel free to email [email protected].
If you want to go the extra mile, come see me at a major show and let's talk face to face or call me at 214-393-4510.
If you wish to act a fool and/or talk crap for the fun of it, save it. I, nor anyone from Leaf, will not waste even another second bantering with game players.

I appreciate both our supporters and those with criticism who present it in a mature, balanced and/or respectful way.

Brian, if you follow through with this, it will be one of the smartest things you've ever done.

C'mon now you guys are better than taking shots by saying you were doing better things than message board surfing, especially when you oth post all the time. Debating the product and everything about it is one thing but criticizing grammar and message board usage another.
