admitting to 20 years of professional dating failure is far more embarrassing. :lol:beefycheddar said:Also if she has 15 years of dating experience and by my calculations she is 34 or so..... She didn't get a date until she was around 19?

As the father of two girls, I think I would shoot myself in the head if either of them start writing a dating advice blog for an online forum of baseball card collectors.

Men insulting women based on appearance is about as original as tired yo mama insults. I guess now that more + more women are MORE educated + EARNING MORE than more + more men, men have to resort to the old “let’s insult her looks” game. Neither original nor classy.
Based on the card guys I see @ shows, I’m guessing most of the guys insulting her looks are NOT exactly in the league of OMG HOTTEST STUD YOU’VE EVER SEEN but are more in the league of OMG PLEASE BECOME FAMILIAR W/A SHOWER, DEODORANT, + A SHIRT THAT ISN’T STAINED W/NACHOS, HOTDOGS, ETC. Since it seems fair game to bash the woman based on her weight, perhaps some of the card guys here who are making those comments might want to look in the mirror b/c fellas, most of YOU are likely NOT the slimmest or hottest piece of beef out there.
On a deeper note, it’s sad to see beckett (+ card/grading cos.) continue to use the age old ploy of “let’s bring some chicks in tight outfits out.” That’s not going to bring more women into the hobby + it’s only going to creep out the “chicks” who have to stand around @ the card shows while the card boys drool over them + trot out such ~original~ lines as “hey, wanna do me?”
Btw, since when did 30 something become old? I realize all you fine young boys are the hottest studs around and have to fight off the supermodels left + right, but I’m guessing most of your flickr’s (and no, I’m not interested/bored enough to try to hunt/stalk them down LOL) probably contain some less than classy/hot pics.

I think you've missed the point here. She opened herself up for scrutiny when she referred to one of her dates as a hobbit. Glass houses and whatnot.
Not on a public forum, no. I think THAT shows a lack of class.rainmanesq said:hawkfandan said:btw, i'm sure none of you fine gentlemen has ever referred to any of your dates in less than fond terms?rainmanesq said:While I’m not a fan of the dating column idea, I find it funny yet sad that card boys get up in arms b/c of the “hobbit reference” yet readily insult this woman based on her appearance. You want her email?sportscardtheory said:If she would have perused this FCB thread, she would have realized that card collectors have evolved from "cellar dwelling trolls" (not that they all ever were) to normal everyday, sometimes even good looking people. WHAT A SHOCK! I think she had a few bad experiences with some trolls, but that in no way reflects on the majority of us collectors. That said, to belittle her is acting exactly like the people she WAS talking about. There is no reason for it. If what she said insulted you, then are you not the exact type of person she was refering to??? I was not insulted in the least, because I know who I am. Has anyone even thought that she might read this someday? I find some of the things people have said in here to be insulting in a mean-spirited kind of way, and I want her to know that in no way are these people speaking for all of us.
