I just got this link ( http://mlb.mlb.com/bloombergsports/?par ... -175180500) in an email
and i thought I have never played....i think i have the general idea, that you are given a budget to pick your own players and then their individual stats will automatically calculate how well your team would have done on a whole. Besides injuries and replacing and trading, is there any more interaction?

I bet there may be others that have never played and would like to, but don't really know how to get started?

I am hoping that there may be one or two people that would volunteer to assist a new group get started here if there is enough interest, and that besides the "1 or 2 leaders", that no one else is supposed to join unless they have never played before?

Just a thought??

I'd volunteer to start this type of league if interested. I've only played for the last 3 years but I'm not very good and usually only finish in the middle of the pack. I'm defiately not a ringer. I'm a fan of leagues on ESPN and would prefer to do it there. Let me know what you think Send me a pm if you want to talk a out this more

If you guys want to do Yahoo Fantasy Then I will be commissioner
I have been playing for about 6 or 7 years
I have not done any other sites but I am happy with Yahoo
so far If it goes down I would like to get 10 or 12 teams
I would prefer a card or cash entry to make it a little funner

Maybe you can start by just summarizing how/what fantasy baseball is? Maybe the more it is talked about, the more interest. I don't even know how many people are needed to make it work?
If you think you can lead it on, please start sharing, and we may get some pokes and interest?

I was actually thinking about this today and how fun it would be to do fantasy baseball. I do fantasy football but I suck at it because it's my least favorite sport and then I can never get anyone to do a basketball one.

I'm definitely in.

Cool, now two volunteers to help assist get this thing going.
Do you both know yahoo...doesn't matter to me...and as far as money goes, I am all for it, but lets see if we can rack up enough players and take a vote?
How many players does it take?

Should we say only those that have never played before can enter? Does that even make sense?
I know absolutely ZILCH.

Basically you need 10 or 12 guys (teams )
You can do an online draft where each guy can rank there
top 100 or so then it just goes down your list and takes the top guy
You get points for HR,hits,RBI etc (as a hitter)
You lose points for errors, runs, hits etc (as a pitcher and fielder)
You can update weekly or daily but if you do weekly
you run risk of injuries and lost points
Yahoo is just the easiest for everyone since most people
have a yahoo email already
Entry could be 40 cash or 40 cash value cards or just paypal
I am open to whatever

Also just like with baseball you have trades, waivers, trade deadlines etc
Also you can veto other teams trades so they dont do lopsided trades

I am in for a league if everyone will stay active all season. I prefer to do a free league for fun or everyone throw in a few cards for the winner..

My first year participating in fantasy baseball I did a Yahoo league as well as an ESPN league. They're both free and easy to use, but I preferred the ESPN league because I could see up to the minute updates of stats and scoring. Yahoo made you pay for that same service or wait till the end of the day to see how your guys did if you didn't want to look them all up individually. I'm not sure if they still do it that way.

I'll add some more thoughts as I have a chance throughout the day.

Either would be fine. Live football stats in football this year were free compared to a few years ago when you had to pay, maybe the same in baseball?

I would like to be involved also. I would prefer the Yahoo floormat rather than the ESPN site. The league settings could be setup in different cats, you could have just an American or National league floormats.

Keep me in mind, I would be active the entire season.

See I knew you would get in
No set prices yet people I am just going with the flow
I would prefer a 50 or 100 per team HOWEVER
I am not the voice here just throwing out numbers
12 teams would be ideal I think we have around 4 to 5 on board so far
If you want in just say so and if you have ideas speak now
We have a few months to make this work for everyone :D
