Montero is a big guy, but so is Matt Wieters. Matt is way bigger in Jesus based on stature and he can field his position perfectly. I don't see the problem with Montero staying as a catcher, but he has no choice when he gets to the bigs because he has Tex at first if he decided to move there.

I've got Santana. Biggest offensive upside of any of the guys listed.

That's utter nonsense. Montero's offensive ceiling is among the best in the minors period, not just at catcher. The only thing keeping Montero from running away in this poll is defense. If it was strictly offense-based, he is clearly the guy.

I do not beleive Montero will hit for as much power as Santana...Also keep in mind that Santana can hit for power from BOTH sides of the plate. He also has a great batting eye, and should hit for a decent enough average (think .275-.300 with a .400 OBP). I am not yet convinced that Montero will stick at catcher either.

For those of you who haven't noticed, Santana is destroying AA right now:

.303, 7 HR, 9 2B, with a .985 OPS. And the kicker? 30/22 BB to SO ratio.

I would also like to point out that numerous prospect evaluation sites, before the season, picked Santana over Montero in their top 100 lists (for example: BA ranked Santana as the 26th best prospect in baseball, and ranked Montero as the 38th). Now I know that does not necessarily mean anything (especially considering Posey was in the top 15  ), but if you look at their numbers side by side, has Montero really down enough to pass Santana? I don't beleive so, and that is my opinion.

Santana is also 3 years the elder. I'll take my chances with Jesus.

That's fine. I will take my chances with a guy who is more polished, with a much higher floor (with an equally impressive ceiling of his own).
