I have gotten some nice inserts/rcs as extras before but got an bonus auto with a nice note on a recent purchase.

Anyone else ever get decent extras?

I got an Allen & Ginter relic of some bullfighter as a freebie. It turned out to be an SP and I ended up selling it for $25, which happened to be what I paid for on the card I initially won.

This is by far the best freebie I ever got from an ebay purchase. Came ungraded. I can't even remember the card(s) I bought, but I don't think it was a big purchase. So I was shocked to see he threw in this for free.

I usually look at the feedback of my buyers to see what else they are buying. If I have something along that line laying around, I'll throw some in.

Last week, I had a buyer that was buying some of those Toppstown inserts for a buck apiece plus shipping from other sellers. He bought a gold lot from me for some decent money so I filled the rest of the case with about 20-25 or so of those Toppstown inserts. I'm sure he was quite happy.

It does help with feedback and DSRs and I just give away stuff I could never be bothered selling anyway so it's all good

Didn't someone get burned by giving away freebies? I thought I read or heard about someone getting a negative because the freebies were not in mint condition.

Probably about a year ago I won a Carlos Gutierrez Blue Refractor Auto for about $10 dlvd which I thought was a good deal and the seller threw in a Gold Refractor Auto because he took awhile to send it :D

I don't think I've never gotten anything really nice, but sometimes I admit they are annoying. Like, I collect Sizemore but I'm not an Indians fan or collector, and a couple times I've receive a couple other Indians cards, scrub players from 2004 Fleer or something. I recognize the thought, but now I've got a couple pieces of junk that I can't bear to throw out but don't want to file away.

One time I get a cloissone Smurf pin. I gave it to my girlfriend, but then I got an email from the seller saying it was a mistake. This wasn't a surprise, and I offered to send it back but he never gave me his return address. Broke up with the girl shortly after, still have the pin. If that guy's reading this, I can still send it back.

yes, a few years ago i bought a prime cuts card off ebay and the seller shipped it in the box that it came in. i think the seller opened the box, saw the card and didn't like what he got so he never opened the extra pack underneath it. when i opened the pack, i got a babe ruth bat out of it.

I'm with smapdi... the only thing I have ever received were some base cards. I think they were intended more to protect my purchase than as an actual freebie. It's just annoying, like smapdi I don't want to throw them away, and I don't want to file them away. Especially strange was when I purchased a Sabathia card and it came with a bunch of football cards. ::scratches head::

They are probably in the same boat and don't want to throw them away so they just pass them on for someone else to deal with.

I definately would have thought that about my card, but the guy told me in advance he was sending an extra Jones for me that I would really like. Apparently he was just getting rid of his collection and decided to be overly generous. The best I could do for him was give him great feedback. This was before the ratings started for categories, so all I could do was explain how nice the guy was.
