What players and what cards do you guys think are gonna be hot this year? Who are the best investments to buy now?

Ill start and say Trent Edwards rookie cards. They might not finish the season as a hot card, but by week 4-5 i think they will be.

I've definitely started to buy a few Trent Edwards RC Autos lately. I truly think with TO at WR, his stuff should explode at some point. His stuff was pretty high last year already when the Bills started 4-0, even w/ decent stats but nothing spectacular.

I also like Lee Evans, since TO will be double covered, as well as Anthony Gonzalez since he'll be the new #2 w/ Marvin gone.

me too, ive been waiting for him to breakout the last few years, maybe this is the year? He is a big game player, i remember a couple years back he had something like 250 yards receiving in ONE game.

He's a decent investment, though his stuff has already doubled within the past week to two and the QB situation in San Fran is pretty shaky.

Andre Johnson..When ESPN starts talking about him like they do Fitzgerald his cards will reach new heights. If Schaub is healthy all year Johnson will put up ridiculous numbers. He's the best WR in the game. Everyone just doesn't know it yet.

I WISH!!! He looked pretty bad in the first 2 pre-season games. Granted, he is getting adjusted to the speed of the NFL game, but I just don't ever see him being a starter in the league. I hope I am wrong...

He def has potential and hopefully can develop his game.

I have to think that if Dwayne Bowe and Hailey keep a good relationship he ought to have 100 or so catches this year.

Steelers No 2 WR could turn out to be No 1 Soon enough

You can get some of his stuff fairly cheap but I don't see any of his stuff going up too much more. How can he top SB MVP? Maybe if he rescues 100 orphans from a burning building during a game.

Andre is in top 3 or 4 WR in NFL for sure and Houston is a huge market, but since the team there is really new do you think Texans have enough collectors and will other Football collectors buy into Johnson, since hes playing on a "low profile" team. The Texans have never had a really high profiled, valuable, hot player in the Hobby before. Not even when the Oilers where there, although Warren Moon did and continues to have some hobby notoriety (as Campbell does as well), Houston Football hobby market has a never had that really big player. Maybe Johnson will be the first?

anything short of a dream season and leading the league in yards and another SB MVP, he can't! Holmes has peaked, IMHO.

 I guess you didn't pay attention/see Andre Johnson's stuff on Ebay last year??? He literally blew up (especially his rc's!) & I sold off almost everything I had of him as his SV's were getting ridiculous! Since I don't have much of his stuff left I haven't been keeping track of his SV's as of late so I dunno if it is a good "buy-in" price or not, but I would definitely agree that he will be heading north in SV (barring an injury). I also think Schaub has some pretty huge potential this year (but his "barring an injury" deserves to be placed in intalic's, underlined, & be bolded; as he's very prone to injury)!

This statement couldn't be further from the truth: "Houston Football hobby market has a never had that really big player"... The Texans have had David Carr (who was one of the highest selling Rc auto's in that year's product), Andre Johnson (who Rc's have always garnered interest & steady sv's...last year was a peak & his rc auto's were just as high if not higher than anyother in the league- maybe not Fitz's after the Superbowl but not many WR's ever reach that ******), Domanick Davis Rc Auto's were SOARING & reached triple digit number's, Mario Williams Rc's & Rc Auto's have sold just as high if not higher than ANY defensive player in the league to date, DeMarco Ryans Rc Auto's were selling at pretty high level's the past 2+ year's or so & are currently at respectable level's for a defensive player, & last year's rc phenom RB Steve Slaton blew the top off & matched everyother rc RB in sell value; & will probably continue to do so this year once the season starts!!! So I'm not sure if you just never paid much attention to Houston player's on the market or if you were just hasty in responding to a member's post...whatever the case may be, your statement (as I wrote before) couldn't be further from the truth! No hard feeling's I hope(?), I don't take pleasure in correcting someone or pointing out when someone is wrong but I wanted to make sure the fact's are known about my hometown team- the Houston Texans...as they've got a fanbase that isn't restricted to Houston (I've sold Texans card's to people all over the world & the majority in my experience, believe it or not, are in New York  )!!!

I'm mainly focussing on rc's/rc auto's when discussing other player's I think are in favorable position's to see thier SV increase are (& it almost reads like the 2006 Draft  ):

-DeAngelo Williams
-Jerious Norwood
-Vernon Davis
-Mario Williams
-Vince Young (eventually, later in the year when he retakes the starting QB position)
-Sage Rosenfels (I'm predicting an INJ on Favre)
-Steven Jackson
-Greg Olsen
-Aaron Rodgers
-Larry Johnson
-Ronnie Brown

There are several more player's that I like on Offense & Defense but I'm still buying those guy's! ;) :D
Take care all, Dave.

I haven't purchased any cards but am tracking a few players. Some already mentioned, but I have a couple more:

Darren McFadden
Brady Quinn
Anthony Gonzalez
Pierre Thomas

Thoughts? Perhaps some of these players are already at a peak? I'm new to investing

reggie bush, say what you want about him but more people that are not even sports fans will know his name before adrian peterson or tomlinson, so it will only take a good season for his stuff to skyrocket, his stuff is dirt cheap right now.

Sorry to bump this, just wondering if anyone had any comments about the above players?

We love Pierre Thomas in New Orleans. I am a little biased being a Saints' fan but Reggie will never be an every down back. He cannot stay healthy and has a fumbling problem. Pierre will get probably 60% of the carries this year, Mike Bell and Reggie the other 40% more than likely.
