I believe it's Alvarez, but Santana's a stud. Hellickson is the most underrated player in the game. If I throw a name out there that might be unconventional, I think Brett Wallace is going to be a tremendous hitter in the big leagues.

How has nobody mentioned Mike Trout? I've seen "Minor League Player of the Year-Type Numbers" next to his name in almost half of the BA Prospect Reports this year so far. He'll easily be in their top 10 come February.

Desmond Jennings.... And if people like Mike Trout are listed (in 1st year) then I'll raise you a Nolan Arenado!

I'd think they'd give the edge to the guy who has 56 games played vs the guy who's only played 18 games (so far this year) if they have similar OBP/SLG/OPS numbers. Both of these players are in their 2nd year, and yes, they do put 1st year players on this list (Ackley was in their top 10 this past year).

Bumgarner, Trout

While I am a HUGE Bumgarner fan, there's no way he's that type of guy anymore. Sorry.

Mike Trout, though, should be in the top 5 discussion.

Bumgarner is 20 years old and is in AAA and is 6-1 with a 3.13 ERA - would be lower if he didn't get shelled first two rusty starts :)

There are more efficient pitchers who put up better power pitcher type numbers, i.e. Jeremy Hellickson, left in the minors.
