Love the look of the gold label with the color of the UD Futures and same with the silver witih the ref of the bowman sterling. I feel they were a little harsh on my hanley subs and the surface grade on my sterling but whatever. I am not going to retry, content with them how they are now. love the sig of the hanley

Wow, love the Clyde!!

Although I thought no one would grade the Star cards anymore because of all the near perfect forgeries out there that flooded the market several years ago...?

i didnt think that BGS was slabbing the star cards?

They mentioned somewhere that they were starting to grade them, I think about a year ago. I think they've always done baseball, but recently hired an expert for the Star basketball. I know they can be told apart if you know what to look for. I think they have an ex-Star employee as the expert, but might be incorrect, I'm going off memory.

interesting. I was under the impression that when STAR ran off more copies, they used the original press plates, thus telling which was which was impossible. i may be confusing this with that Mattingly minor league issue though

You're right. They used the original plates. It's unlikely you could tell the difference unless they used different inks or cardboard.

From what I know about Star was the reprints were not done to original specs by Star. The reprints they did used different borders and were sold on SAH. Basically the owner of Star was selling sets as being from the 80s but freshly printed but using new designs.

Is the '07 topps chrome Lincecum a refractor? If it is they didn't note that.
It is a refractor, however it is listed in beckett as just topps chrome as its the only variant. I guess kind of like 2001 bowman chrome.
