I think people are jumping the gun here. Wait for more details before you start declaring yourself right.

What more details are necessary? MLBPA is the horse's mouth, is it not?

Hardly. They have a clear agenda here, and the ability to twist information.

I want to know when the financial support was given.

I want to know who it was given to (edgeman or razor)

I want to see an incident where "defacto control" was actually exercised.

I will also add...

I want to see disclosed information about this conversation between Richard McWilliam and the [un]named MLBPA agent.

Where are Richard's direct statements on this issue?

I know, CHris, it's tough to be lied to and know that your partner screwed around behind your back. Hey, ask Kate Gosselin... Cmere, let me give you a big hug, big guy. It's all right. There are other companies out there that will love you just as much and be faithful. It's all right, big guy.

The "defacto control" may not have been exercised yet. I always thought that when/if any of these guys made the big league roster within their exclusive Razor contract, UD was going to "buy" said contract at an undisclosed (and VERY favorable) amount, over which Razor would have no say.

It was my intent of investing a good amount of money in Razor. I had questions and they were never adequately answered. I had my suspicions, and obviously, now I know why the contract was never provided.

Minor little things here but the contract you denied ever asking for until it was shown to you?

Also, if some random person was to ask you for a copy of any contract you've entered in, would you supply it?

He's being objective, Jeff. No need to be condescending.

If I was selling a product BASED ON HOW ROCK SOLID THE CONTRACT WAS, yes.

I wanted to ensure that there was no way out of this contract, that these players truly were exclusive. That is the first and foremost reason I didn't plunk down $5k on this product.

You've mistaken condescending with sarcastic.

Sorry to interject myself perhaps unnecessarily here, but as per above, I still don't understand what the hobby impact would be even if UD was calling all of Razor's shots from the very beginning.

I do understand that it is fun to unearth what has happened, is that what's happening here? I thought all the industry player's agendas were more or less apparent already.

People don't like being lied to.

This would also effectively end Razor's presence in the market, therefore limiting the future value of their 2008 products.

Lets be honest here, you were never plunking down 5K, you were playing lawyer. It's not common practice for companies to share contracts and even you admitted that you didnt blame them for not sharing. Lets watch out for the revisionist history.

I don't think I was lied to or screwed.

I point blank asked him if razor was funded by UD, and he denied it then. However edgeman never came up.

And are we then to assume that UD's presence in the market would also be coming to an end for the same reason - - after all, if all these allegations were true, would essentially have been the same company as Razor.

Battered wife syndrome.

The point blank answer was a lie of omission.

As far as de fact control, if money was given to Razor by McWilliam you can be damn sure he had say in his investment.

Chris, buddy.... I'm not sure how to respond to this - it's like Razor has beat you up and you're still defending them... - if UD funds Edgeman and edgeman funds Razor, it's no different than UD funding Razor. But if you want to believe something different, and keep defending Brian despite the fact that he's either 1) outright lying or 2) telling half truths and not being completely honest, so be it.

Glad that I'm not the only one who sees it that way. And to think, Uncle Rico, we often disagree on things.

Jeff, it would be entirely different.

If the loan was given to edgeman before they were thinking about making baseball cards then the loan was given to strengthen UD's distribution network.

If the loan was given to razor then it was done as an attempt to slight bowman products in some form.

It clearly makes all the difference in the world and I hoped you would be smart enough to realize that.

The timing of the loan, if there was a loan, is at issue. However, the MLBPA email doesn't indicate that. I'm treating the MLBPA email as gospel. If it's wrong, well, then my assumptions are wrong as well.
