Jeff, it would be entirely different.

If the loan was given to edgeman before they were thinking about making baseball cards then the loan was given to strengthen UD's distribution network.

If the loan was given to razor then it was done as an attempt to slight bowman products in some form.

It clearly makes all the difference in the world and I hoped you would be smart enough to realize that.

The timing of the loan, if there was a loan, is at issue. However, the MLBPA email doesn't indicate that. I'm treating the MLBPA email as gospel. If it's wrong, well, then my assumptions are wrong as well.

What that letter didn't say is as important as what it did say.

I think we agree because I'm in the same boat: either the email is true or its false. The loan timing is irrelevant to me.

What bothers me the most is the fact that collectors wanted to know something about a new baseball card company, whether it was backed by a credible source in the hobby, and they were either lied to outright or by omission.

It looks like someone or several people involved thought it was a bad idea to share information. Now, damage control.

Doesnt it seem this company (Razor) is always on damage control? It seems right from the start that they have been doing things that called their business practicies into question. (in my opinion!)

I do remember buying alot of clearance product from Edgeman when I owned my own card shop and a good amount of these clearance products were UD. I am not saying anything other than Edgeman had some pretty great deals on UD products most of the time.

True or not, all of it is believable simply due to the fact that since day one it's been bizarre scenario and accusation after bizarre scenario and accusation.

I know people here were/are personally involved through purchase/investment so it has to be tiresome to keep hearing about this stuff, especially after so many steadfast denials and avoidance. So for you guys, I'm sorry you have to go through this.

I would strongly recommend divesting oneself of all Razor cards immediately.

It has been an odd situation to say the least.

The big question that I have and who knows when it will get answered is what does this do to the exclusivity?

From a collecting investing standpoint I have only some razor metals that I've bought at what I thought were great prices, the cards look great when i got them in and the quality of them is far better than what I expected, so I'm not that ticked off.

I'm not even looking into the value (present and future) of the cards, it's just the general hassle/nuisance of having to keep seeing the headlines.

I am still buying the metal

I love em. Many that own them will say the same thing, not as a means of protecting investments.

my buying plans have not changed

It is pretty much the "Brett Favre Story" of FCB.

If I never heard another word about Brett Favre, Bonds, Balco, A-Rod drama, a Red Sox - Yankees Series, T.O., Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson and now Razor fiascos I would be happy as a clam!

Phil, I believe legally you can only refer to him as Chad "Johnson" Ocho Cinco.

Chad Ochocinco. Yes, Ocho Cinco is actually one word.

Haha, that may be true...but the only thing I care about is seeing a primadonna such as him have another dismal year. To have a year like he did last year after that publicity stunt was CLASSIC.

To echo what Chris said, I have really liked the metal cards I've received and seeing them in person both look and quality has only made me want to buy a few more.
