I think the point is, for over $500, there should not BE any boxes that bad. They are $500 for a reason, and that reason is they fill it with cards that are not worth 1/5th of the box price. If you buy a $20 pack and get $5 in cards, that is realistic. If you spend $500 and get $100, that's a scam.

upper deck can make any exqusite product and sell it out, until that changes, they don't care what you
pull. Like I have said before, for every person who acutally calls UD and complains about getting
screwed there are 10 who don't....that is pretty good money!

I think the exquisite line has been around quite long enough for people to know that yes, you can get $50 worth of cards out of a $500 pack. This shouldn't be shocking for anyone.

Is it a good thing? Of course not. People want to get as much value out of a pack as possible.

But Upper Deck is not the only culprit. Topps Sterling year to year yields $40 worth of cards out of $250 packs- how is this different than upper deck's exquisite line?

You need to look at the big picture- Topps Sterling and exquisite are some of the FEW products that you can pull $5000 plus cards out of, so that's why people are tolerant of getting 10% return from a pack. Only collectors who have the expendable income should buy these products, and those who do shouldn't complain about getting 10% back- you all know the risks. If you don't take those risks, though, you'll never have a shot at cards like this:

For every two hundred "dud" packs, you'll hit a monster. Just as in Topps Sterling.
