Mainly stick to Angels for the PC. I did very well with Trout, Trumbo, Adenhart, Kendrick and Brandon Wood. Was able to get in on the bottom floor and flip some dupes at the right time in order to cover my buy in and then some. Got my ass handed to me on Casey Kotchman, Jeff Mathis and Trevor Reckling.

What about McPherson?I saw some Angels fan trying to dump his cards on Blowout awhile back.

The only prospects that I ever buy are Twins for the PC but here is where I'm at right now.

Success: Eddie Rosario, sold off some of his chrome stuff that I had bought cheap and still have stuff for the PC, including a few BC Autos

Holding: Aaron Hicks, Oswaldo Arcia, 1-2 decent cards of basically everyone in the system that I bought really cheap

Failure: Angel Morales, he was one of the first prospects that I got some stuff of and he had a horrible year this year. I think I have a Gold Ref, Orange Ref, and 5-6 Playoff Contenders Autos.

I've done really well with Profar and Kemp. I had luck with chrome autos of Kemp, Verlander, Stanton and Kershaw las year and the start of this year. Lots of failures but most had been half hearted attempts that haven't cost much.

Never got in too deep with McPherson. I had some base chromes, UD PP and a Xfractor I picked up in a trade.

Success:

1. Noah Syndergaard--sold an orange and a few bases. Made enough that I have all of ~$15 total in what I have left. Which includes a gold ref auto, a blue 9.5 auto, a blue raw auto, 3-4 ref autos, and several base autos.
2. Oscar Taveras: Sold way early probably, but was making 2-3 times what I had in each chrome I had.
3. Lots of other lower end prospect guys in the last year, did fairly well on them. Have many, many more smaller stashes that are holds for the time being.

Losses:

1. Ryan Bolden: I focus too much on low end guys...got killed here. Have two golds, 7 blues, probably 15 refs and a few base. Only thing I've sold was a sterling plate auto, which I somehow made like 2 bucks on after fees. Even though I don't have a ton in this guy (got golds in the low 20s), I'm still going to lose my butt, since he hits worse than just about any human being on the face of the planet.
2. Chad James---still have 2 golds, a sterling gold 9.5, 3 blues, couple x's, and several refs, and several sterling 9.5s. It's a hold, but I know I got in way too high on him.
3. Brad Hand--was in a bit high on him, but didn't get killed too badly, still hope.
4. Deck McGuire--again, not in terribly high, but he's looking pretty rough.

Success: Andrelton Simmons, Trevor Bauer (still have so much more, but missed out on selling a Blue BGS 10/10 for $540)

Fails: P.J. Phillips, Reymond Fuentes (I know still to early to call him done, but he SUCKED this year in AA), Josh Smoker

Boom - Mike Trout but could have held out for more. Oh well better to make a profit.
Profar I made some good money on and still have some really nice cards for my Ranger PC.

Bust - Stephen Strasburg over spent on his cards and will be lucky to get half my money back. Traded and sold at the wrong times and bought way to high almost every time.

Seems like I always need to sell at the wrong time.

I'm looking through my folders and have these:

Boom:
Mike Zunino: Bought 8 Aflacs for $8 each a year ago. Also purchased 4 Aflac autos for ~$20 each. Four of the eight Aflacs Gemmed. I sold all twelve cards to the same guy and must have gotten around $300 for them. Crazy thing is that he tripled his money on the autos.

Jason Heyward/Mike Moustakas: These two were my first true attempts at prospecting. Bought about 4 Chrome/Sterling autos of both with no desire to keep them, which was a new concept for me. Both ended up blowing up in March-May and I ended trying the same concept to failure right afterwards. Definitely remember buying into Phillippe Aumont right after.

Busts:
Matt Purke: After he went 16-0 his freshman year at TCU, I figured he'd dominate again. I also knew he would be an injury risk but I wasn't concerned as he'd only have to pitch through a college season before he'd get drafted. He ended up getting injured and my $400 is now $50. Haven't sold anything in hopes of a comeback.

Jarrod Parker: Bought in after he needed TJ and his prices have never really been more than what I bought in at. Probably took a loss of 50%.

2010 Bowman Sterling USA Black Refractor Jersey Autos: Cards that were $250 are now $50. Yikes!

I expect more in both Boom and Bust but the thrill keeps me going.

Don't have a true boom story yet and my bust would be Jaff Decker, still have a small stash of him. Should have sold when refractors were getting $30.

Heh, I remember picking up Almonte in fantasy baseball one year when Jeter got hurt.Did Nash ever make the majors?

Last I heard he was in jail for statutory rape (Nash) that was back in 2002 don't know how his bball career went after that

Bust: Bobby Bradley, Greg Reynolds, Luis Montanez, Jason Stokes, Rick Asadoorian, Kevin Mench, Cyle Hankerd

Boom: my OCD caused me to buy a dozen 99 TT Hamilton autos in the mid 2000's for $5-$8 each

I have a couple Balentien cards too I wish I would have dumped years ago, though don't have much into them.Really thought he was going to hit for power.Heh, I've never heard of someone buying cards of someone because they played well on Madden.Did any Florida WR ever produce much in the NFL?I remember several WR's there that went in the 1st round in the draft and did very little.

I did well with Wlad , bought in twice too... My first prospect, still have a bunch of stuff.. For what it's worth I read he is doing good in Japan..

Way too many busts and not enough of the other side but I have had some successes. I did learn though that I need to stay away from the "value" guys because although their autos might be $5, I still spend way too much on them.

BOOM:
Ubaldo Jiminez-bought a butt ton of autos in 2007 and held them until he started to dominate (though I sold before the no-hitter)
Trevor Bauer/Dylan Bundy-was picking them up immediately upon release of draft. Had 4 Bundy base au,2 blue au and also had 5 Bauer Ref Autos, 2 blue au, and 1 gold au...did well with them
Ike Davis-bought a handful of his sterling and chrome autos for just a couple bucks each and sold when he got called up
George Springer-didn't do amazing but probably doubled my money with George. I'd take that anytime for just a couple months holding.

BUSTS:
Michael Freakin Burgess-i sold all of these when I initially sold my entire inventory back in 2008 but when I got back in a couple years ago I looked and couldn't stop buying his stuff and believe it or not I still can't. I currently own 35 chrome base autos (most around the $2-3 range), 22 ref autos ($4-6), 7 xfractor autos ($10), and 6 blue ref autos ($12-15)
Luke Hochevar
Bobby Borchering
Greg Reynolds
Wagner Mateo
Corey Brown
Kevin Keyes-can't quit buying him either
