The Pirates have traded Nate McLouth to the Braves, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The Pirates will reportedly receive three prospects in return. Tommy Hanson's name is was thrown around, but the Post-Gazette has "doubly confirmed" that the Braves' uber pitching prospect is not involved. Details to come

Im sure Medlen was involved if Hanson was not, but in any case, this is a great pick up for the Braves.

Wow the Pirates traded their entire starting outfield in less than a year.

Would be interested in seeing who the prospects are.

A Major League source confirmed that the Pirates will send McLouth to the Braves in exchange for right-handed pitcher Charlie Morton, left-handed pitcher Jeff Locke and outfielder Gorkys Hernandez.

Schuerholz must have had a few extra cups of coffee today - he releases Glavine, calls up Hanson and trades for McLouth within a few hours.

Locke hasn't had a very good year. Morton seems to be a 4-5 guy. Gorky's = no power.

Frank Wren is the GM.

So Renteria in the end nets us JJ and McLouth.

With Medlen and Hanson up. Who's the Braves top 5 pitchers in the minors now?

Teheran and Rohrbough are two names that spring to mind.

I listened to the Myrtle Beach game yesterday. Rohrbough got destroyed. 2.2IP 11H 10ER 2BB 2K. He's better than that ,but that's a whooping.

Its a good Pickup for the Braves. Schafer is struggling. Wonder what is going to happen to him now?
