What is, "I'll take the over?"

OK, Alex... how about "When Helmets Attack?" for $600

I'll go with the "under" at 3-5 games. If it had been intentionally directed towards the ump, I would say over 10; but because it was a loss of temper incident with no obvious malicious intentions, I say under 10.

The bigger question is this: how crazy would this board be had this been Bryce Harper?

I think 10 games, but Alomar only got 5 games (and a 50,000 donation to Hirschbeck's charity), and I think Robbie's offense was MUCH worse.

Also in Toronto BTW...

10 games, appealed down to 7

added - Plus Lawrie never gets another close call the rest of the year from ANY ump.

That ump should suspended along with him. Talk about bad calls.

I really didn't think the calls were THAT bad. And not even close to bad enough to warrant a reaction like Lawrie's. Plus, it's common practice that if a batter assumes a pitch is ball four and starts heading to first before the call is made, the strike zone increases in size the rest of the at bat.

Definite 5 games. I really don't see it getting up to 10. As someone said, no malicious intent.

the intent may not have been malicious, but does MLB maybe send a strong message that this kind of blowup won't be tolerated?

That was the first thing my wife said. "What happens to the guys who make the bad calls though?" She didn't like that "nothing" was the answer I gave her. And the actual call that made him freak out may have been close, but the one before that missed by 2 widths of a baseball at least.

I think if Lawrie was aiming for Miller, dude would have ended up in the dugout. ;)
Very poor calls by the ump, 2 pitches in the same spot (according to FX) were called both a ball and a strike. Strike 2 was borderline and strike 3 was off even more. It just feels like some umps have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to the Jays. What is worse the same crew is sticking around for the 2 games vs the Yanks. :/ Miller was hit by a Molson brewski when he was walking off the field.

Over 10 games. :(
