What's the rush? Let him get his feet wet in SS and then jump him to high-A in 2013, where he probably would have been anyway.

After a $7.5 million signing bonus and a (3) year $7.5 million contract, giving it all back and opting to go to college to play football would be surprising...but stranger things have happened...I don't know a ton about signing bonuses, but I assume there's something in the contract that says if he goes to play college football, he can't keep the $7.5 million

I would imagine he is more athlete than baseball player. A year of instruction will hopefully help him out more than failure against players who have only focused on baseball since grade school.
I also read KC was keeping the recent draft picks together as much as possible to let them bond and grow together.
