That was one of the worst calls (non-call?) that I've ever seen. Bulls played themselves out of that game, though. Apparently they decided at the end that they didn't need to actually defend Horford, hoping that he would miss those high-percentage uncontested dunks.

in all fairness though, the hawks are better than the bulls.

ATLANTA (AP)
NBA referee Bennett Salvatore acknowledged Sunday that he blew a call in the closing minutes of Atlanta's 100-88 victory over the Chicago Bulls, which evened the Eastern Conference semifinal at two games apiece.

game was over anyway - bulls have one good player ... hawks should win the series if they play hard.

boozer is hurt and the rest of the team cant create a shot other than rose

the officiating tonight was absolutely mind blowing. i was watching the game with my girlfriend and telling her that regardless of how good the hawks played the bulls would win the game because if the hawks got close there would be questionable calls designed to help the home team (and/or more popular team).

suffice it to say, they didnt disappoint.

i would say this is worse than losing a card game to someone with aces up their sleeves. this is more like losing to someone with aces up their sleeves except youre completely aware they have the aces and there's a code of conduct saying you have to pretend they dont.

for what it's worth, this isnt a dig on the bulls. they played great. truly.

So after a referee admits to fracking up a call which gave an advantage to your team in the previous game, since they lost in this one the refs are obviously colluding with, what, the Bulls? The NBA? Bookies?

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

i have no idea wtf youre talking about in regards to previous games. the officiating was terrible last night and it benefited the bulls. the officiating has been terrible in other games in this series to the hawks benefit. officiating in the nba has been a problem for a long time. officiating in the nba typically gives heavy/heavier advantages to home teams and popular teams. these are not opinions, they are trends.

yeah there were some bad calls that went the Bulls way last night... i didn't see the ones called against Rose when the Hawks won, but it wouldn't surprise me....

this is still nothing compared to the last few years when the Hawks lost to Boston. those games were the worst i've ever seen. I literally turned the tv off and had to do something else because i was fuming

C's weren't going to win anyway, but the refs certainly didn't help. There were two travels called, both of which were travels if you go by the book. The one on Davis was while he was losing control after being bumped the whole way, so it really could have been an and one instead of a turnover. The Pierce one was a slight slide of the pivot foot, but if that's a travel then LeBron should probably get 20 a game with the way he cuts to the basket and stops dribbling at the elbow.

those were both travels. davis took 4 steps. and Pierce slid 3 inches on his left foot

I agree, which is why I said they were. They are not NBA travels though. Davis was far worse, but he got fouled before he took his third and 4th step. The Pierce travel was not as bad as the extra steps NBA stars always take when they stop dribbling at the foul line and carry the ball for 3-4 steps before going up for a layup.

i see what you're saying, but he wasn't going up for a layup... there was no continuation. it was definitely a travel and deserved to be called. guys going up for layups/dunks sometimes get the benefit of the doubt, but this particular play with Pierce was just painfully obvious, and it needed to be called
