They have had a 1999 Upper Deck Exclusives #/10 of Gaetti up a few times for a rediculous price of $63.00 and change. I know it's numbered to ten and it's the only one I've ever seen listed, but it's just not a $63. card to me. Wish I could counter-offer.
it does not matter.i have Called them to ask on some Juan cards. the said if you want it thats the price! what a bunch of (%#$*%) they are

What is their id? Can't remember it.

Apparently they don't have any Zimmermans, but I wouldn't mind checking out their stuff.

they came off some prices about 15% one time for me. I bought about $200 worth at the time. other times they have denied my requests but there is hope. all A-Rod cards they are listing are the same and none of the prices have come down a cent. good luck to all.

Well over 2 years ago(it could even be longer then this) they started to list a ton of the 05 Donruss Champions Impressions(the numbered ones that I need to fill sets) so I asked, "hey by chance what do you have in the way of these numbered impressions?"..and I mean ALL that you have, except for the non-numbered silver ones?? And i got some canned response, well YOU take the time and look for yourself and see what we have, because we'll be adding many many more in the weeks to come and we're too busy right now to answer any personal inquiries(something along those lines)..So I let the smart ass response go and asked this question...."tell you guys what, as long as its not the silver impressions(not #'d) I'll take every one you have right now regardless of repeats and what have you"....It took about a week for them to get back to me with a response, because I mistakenly thought they were going through inventory and finding all they had and then coming back to me with a price and such...So the response was pretty much something like this, "sorry but all we have will be listed in our store with fixed prices and you can get them there"....Thats it, nothing more then that answer, and I was well prepared to spend up to $1K or more if needed especially for any of the orange ones(retail-#'d /75) and was really hoping to get a few more of the black ones(#'d /5)..So I still was trying to keep my growing anger to a minimum and reply'd with this..."Well guys I have over a thousand right now in my Paypal account that I put there when I noticed you guys starting to list these impressions and I still would like to know how many total of the numbered ones you have(ones listed in your store and how many STILL not listed)....And the answer I got just pretty much floor'd me..Cant say exactely what they said, because it has been a long time but it was close to........"Sorry we're not going to waste our time trying to find out what we have of these 05 Donruss Champions Impressions, we're to busy listing our latest batch of cards..And quite frankly we dont think you could or would buy all that we have...but be sure to take a look at our inventory because it changes on a weekly basis...and Thank You for your interest in Burbank Sports Cards".....WOW WOW WOW!!!!

I kid you guys not, that is damn near word for word what was sent to me via email!! So to this day I have not emailed them, bought a card from them or even asked a question about any card they have for sale..Personally I dont care if they have a card that I need or not..I'll never spend a dime of my money with tools like this!! Maybe someone was having a bad week or whatever, but when it comes to business you dont treat people like this....Ok then--off the soap box and sorry for the rant--I really do feel so much better!! :D :D :D :D :D

Thanked.

I thought that was it, but when I tried to search for that seller, it came back nothing found. Weird

Burbank also does a lot of research. For instance - Recollection autos. For everyday Reco autos, they have less crazy prices ($40 - $80). For DKs (like the ones I collect) they go as high as $500 for similar S/N's. They know when there are specific collectors out there.

I don't care if I'm down to needing only one Conine card to complete my collection, and Burbank has it for 10% of hi book...I still won't touch it.

Screw those ********, they'll never see a penny of my money. Some of the worst business practices I've seen in any industry.

I actually have a positive story about Burbank.

A few weeks ago, they had a 1995 Bowman's Best refractor on Beckett Marketplace for a little over $6 (fair price considering another sold on eBay last week for $7 at auction). Well, an hour later I get the dreaded email "Sorry but we sold it already, blah blah blah." However, the next sentence caught my eye. "We can refund your money if you choose OR you can choose another card from our inventory up to $11 and we'll send it out."
Well, it just so happened this card was in their inventory at $11.30. 3 days later, it's in my collection (and I needed it anyway).

I have bought from them ONCE and I also got the "We already sold it...". They asked if I wanted a refund or choose another card of equal value....I saw another card I wanted and told them what it was, and they said they sold the card that morning. ::facepalm::

I would never buy from them again

As per earlier - it probably wouldn't hurt them since a good portion of their stock is consigned cards. That fee would just get passed on.

There are plenty of capitalists doing business in the hobby, Burbank seems to be the most successful one and can do pretty much whatever they want as a result - they can set the bar. I daresay if the hobby is to grow there will be more vendors like Burbank.

Unlike many other smaller sellers and dealers, they don't pretend to be something they're not and I respect them for it. They also seem to be consistent with their business practices which I appreciate.

However with all this said, I don't feel obligated to buy from them.

As far as I know, Burbank has never been in the consigment business. Rob just buys big collections and breaks them down as singles. I never understood why collectors get so upset with how Burbank operates. They have a certain business model and they stick to it. If they were not selling cards and not making money they would change, but as long as the sales continue to flow, why would they?
