I have the 1996 Leaf Preferred Steel Bronze Promo Griffey but I am looking for a trade for a extremely rare Jeter card. Something like a Crusade Red Jeter. I don't plan on moving it till the Nationals or if the right card is offered or right price.

I wish you the best of luck with that. It seems with the promos/oddballs, it takes the RIGHT buyer. Not too many people are familiar with the Leaf Steel Bronzes, so there wouldn't necessarily be a feeding frenzy for it. I don't see anyone parting with a Crusade Red Jeter, a much more popular card, even though it isn't as rare as the Bronze.

That depends on the collector some are willing to pay a lot for there player. The major flaw with these are not everyone knows about them. I seen a guy list a Crusade Red Jeter maybe 2 years ago asking 10k and it never sold. So who really knows what it would sell for. I am certain more people would try if I listed it as an auction but I don't plan on doing that I rather keep it till I get that offer I can't refuse or trade.

Speaking as a Griffey collector, who pays a lot for his player (standing offer of $7500 for a clean Crusade Griffey) I am pretty indifferent on this card. At one point I was like "eh, I guess I can throw a thousand bucks at it" but it's just not one of those cards that gets me excited about owning. The more I see it paraded around here, the more relieved I am that I didn't make a real attempt at it. Good luck with it.

The Crusade Red cards look awesome and I can see why people want to pay a lot for them. I only posted it again as putting the Promo's in a graded case made them actually look a lot nicer. I actually had quite a few people at the Nationals ask me about it and tell me how sweet the card was scans don't do justice I guess. I think the back looks really good but if your going off just appearance a Crusade Red is I better looking card. I feel the Mirror Blue from 1996 looks better than the Mirror Gold as I bought one cheap of a common player just to look and see what all the hype is about and most of that to me must be how scarce they are. The 1998 Donruss Crusade is one of the best looking cards ever. I can understand why you would want that more and wish you luck I am sure most are tucked away in a collection just like the Jeter cards.
