His ERA over the last 5 games has been over 4, nearly 4.5. THAT IS STRUGGLING FOR A CY YOUNG CANIDATE. And you know what he struggled? He was overworked. The Giants misuse of Lincecum will haunt them, just wait.

LOL CLEARLY OVERWORKED! He must be so tired his effectiveness in his last start of the season was so diminished he only struck out 13!

I guess if there was an award for second half Cy than give it to him. Sorry but he was crushing the likes of the Reds, Padres, and Pirates. He faced sub .500 teams multiple times, and the only contending team he faced since joining the Brewers were the Cubs. He gave up 4 runs twice against them. He also faced the Astros and Cards once apiece. Face it if you consider CC for the CY, THEN YOU MUST CONSIDER OSWALT. He had a comparable second half, granted without the CGs, and he faced more +.500 teams. Plus he had a franchise record 32 1/3 scoreless innings, and was a HUGE key for the stros being in the hunt so late. So to all of you saying CC I disagree. The bigger reward will be the Brewers winning the series, right?

Its gotta be CC. He is like 10-1 with the brewers.

Cy Young is a year long award, You have to take into account his stats with Cleveland if you want to give him a look as Cy Young.

16-10, 2.80 ERA 244 K

i do believe its the NATIONAL LEAGUE Cy Young award. Am i right?

Just wait, you wont be laughing when his career ends due to arm injury a few seasons down the road...

Oh, and its really difficult to beat the Dodgers AAA roster...

LOL Where do you get off making up statistics!?

11 runs over 36.2 IP is a 2.70 ERA MEAT!

it is also the award for the best pitcher OVER THE WHOLE YEAR. I'm guessing that CC wasn't near the best pitching in March, April, May or June in the NL.

I think the more appropriate poll would be C.C. Sabathia for MVP!

Truly. This guy has come up huge on short rest. He has never complained but rather volunteered to do so for a team that he isn't going back to. This is a complete professional.

He has also meant the MOST to his team in the second half. More than Ryan Howard.

I think he'll eventually get robbed on both, but this season is one to remember for a long time.

This is absolutely true. Based on the notion that the player is supposed to be the one that was most valuable to their team, CC did everything he could.

IMO, CC deserves the MVP award and not the Cy Young. Cy Young is the best pitcher in the league regardless of team success. Lincecum is the best pitcher in the league. Period. CC should be considered for MVP, but I think Pujols is the man who will get the award.

So you're really going to rule him out for Cy Young because of his opponent for the last game of the season? Gee while we're at it lets just not count starts made by candidates against sub .500 teams. How many wins does CC or Webb have then? Probably not anymore than Lincecum, maybe even less since Lincecum doesn't get to face the Giants.

I wasn't counting todays game (if you can call playing the Dodgers AAA team a game), but even then his ERA in the last six is 3.7, which is indeed bad for him.

My vote is for Johan, who has the better year IMO.

LOL make up your mind, first you say his last five starts were horrible and when its pointed out that his last five starts ERA is 2.70 then you add one which raises his ERA. Well how about we add the three before that, when he gave up 2 earned runs in 23 1/3 innings! I'm sorry but your argument as to him struggling finishing the season is absolute nonsense. Yes, he had two bad starts, but to say that 2 bad starts mixed with eight dominant ones in his last month or two of the season is ridiculous.

Nevermind I see you are saying that only his NL stats should count for/against him winning.
