I have got to update my site. Been too long and I am hoping to interview Cal again next year about the 30th anniversary of his TCMA/WTF issues as well as talk about the "longest game" back in '81.

I stumbled upon this auction from Huggins and Scott. After commission this PSA 8 1980 WBTV sold for over $2,700. One of only 10 PSA 8 copies with no PSA 9. It has the new slab:

Received an e-mail from a collector that landed this. I think he got a pretty solid price...

This was me, thanks again RITM for directing me to these forums. I'm not sure how active I'll be, but it seems like a good crowd. Very pleased with my purchase!

Greetings again and I'm glad you made it. A very impressive lot of cards you got. Adding that early Ripken sig to the mix only adds to it!

In a pretty good mood. Received a confirmation e-mail saying that Cal would answer some questions for my site! This is the third Q & A I have been allowed to do. This Q & A will focus on the 1981 season and his TCMA and WTF cards. Pretty happy about the opportunity.

Thank you sir. I have been apprehensive about asking a lot in the past. I did not want to take advantage of the opportunity and close the door for future sessions. Very fortunate. Never imagined the site would grow to that point. Having Cal's seal of approval in a sense helps the cause as well.

Is it going to be in person or by phone?

Sweet! Even as a MD native, I still never have spoken to Cal in person, or even obtained his autograph in person. I remember one kid in the neighborhood who actually got Cal's signature at an Oriole's game growing up... I was jealous at the time!

I did go to 2,131 though, and there's some pictures of me decked out in Cal gear as a 6th grader back then. But for the life of me, I still don't know where I put that ticket stub. I remember taking extra good care of it, as they didn't rip them that day. Instead they used a "bubble" punch, i.e. like a hole-puncher without making a hole. It inscribed some type of commemorative O's logo into the ticket...

I'm sure I speak for plenty of Cal fans, you really are living a dream by getting to talk to him!

Unfortunately it is through his PR spokesman. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled. This all started in 2006 when I did get to meet Cal. He spoke at my alma mater and I received a credential. I spoke to Cal twice that night about the site. I spoke with his travel companion and asked how to set up an interview. Since it was close to the HOF announcement I was asked to be patient. Months after the HOF induction I got with the guy I had met and was asked to submit a formal request. He forwarded the request with his seal of approval. The first interview was scheduled. Long story short the rep takes my questions and forwards them to Cal. He gets to them and answers them as he can. They are forwarded to me through his PR guy. Still quite the honor.

No absolutely.
I just just curious to see if you needed someone to answer the phone for you or be your scribe. ;)

I will take that in consideration if/when Cal ever decides to give me a call.
