Yeah, if he's describing tape/plastic turning black, it definitely got cooked. I'm not exactly sure how it happens, but i've seen it before.

If I remember correctly, the post office says a bubble mailer should be 3/4 inch thick in order to do a dc on it. I could be mistaken, but i remeber getting cards with packing peanuts in the envelope to make it thicker. Is that to ensure it doesnt go thru any machines and get cooked or damaged?
Sorry. But I have to stick up for the buyer on this. In no way was he trying to scam Markakis. The card sold for $8.50 dlvd. The buyer has 100% feedback and looking at his recent feedback he has been buying Chrome USA Autos. Why on Earth would he damage a $8.50 card so he could get a refund? Makes no sense.
Why are people calling him a ****** and blocking him from bidding on your auctions?
The PO processes millions of items on a daily basis and Im sure a few fall through the cracks and get damaged in transit or get sorted wrong and mailers go through the sorting machines. Or even worse.... a PO employee knows that bubble mailers usually contain sportscards and as a joke between 2-3 guys they stick one in a microwave and "cook" the card. The mailer probably shows no signs of it but the card clearly does. So the buyer isnt at fault and the seller isnt either. But unfortunately the seller loses out because he offers a refund to the buyer.

You're gonna stick up for the idiot buyer? The guys response was that of a complete jack ass.
Post your ebay id so i can be sure to block your ass too.
Really? Come on man. That's some pretty wild...
He said the package was clean but the card was F'd up. How do you explain that? If it got caught in a sorter the mailer would have been messed up. The card looks "cooked". We have read horror stories about PO employees stealing things and Im sure many employees know sports cards in mailers. Im pretty sure every PO sorter isnt the best. I cant put it past someone trying to be funny with a couple guys and doing something like that. If you feel the urge to block me as well... my ebay names are right above this.
I guess my next expirement will be baking chrome cards in the oven.
