trevordchi said:I don't blame him one bit. He has nothing else to prove in the bigs and, sorry New Englanders, not everyone likes Boston. He's from Texas and went to college in LA and TX. Hate to tell you guys up north but we Texans don't really like it up there. I'm sure people from NY and Boston come down here and think we are a bunch of hicks and the weather is too damn hot. A lot of people from Texas think people in the north east are pretentious and the weather is too damn cold.
Jason Hirsh was a Cali-boy that wanted out of Texas as soon as he could and that's part of the reason he was traded for Jason Jennings.

he has nothing left to prove in the bigs? Did you watch him pitch the last time he was in the bigs? Seems like your post was more of a shot at New England then about the topic of the post.

trevordchi said:So what do the Sox fans think of this?
I'll start by saying that this board values prospects WAAAAY too highly and this will get immediately shot down by 99% of you guys but it is actually fairly feasible if the Sox like Masterson and Bowden as starters more than Buchholz and he really is a disgruntled minor leaguer.
You guys need a SS and some catching depth right?
Miguel Tejada and JR Towles (who is having a pretty good year in AAA) for Buchholz?
I know it's a pipe dream for me but I think it's got some merit to it if the Sox really value Masterson and Bowden higher than Buchholz and he really isn't happy in bean town.

I don't think Buchholz is higher rated than either of the pitchers you named. Masterson just is easier to use as a reliever than Clay since Clay takes a long time to warm up.

I know you are a big Buchholz/Sox fan but I don't think that proposal is TOO far fetched. Do you? You know a lot more about your team than I do.

2-9, 6.75 ERA as #5 starter in 2008.
That is why they got Smoltz and Penny.
