I can't tell if you're a troll or just a *******
Seriously...Strasburg?
Thats the best you could come up with?
He trolls every thread like this and says Strasburg...
He's just another 12 year old kid that trys to act like he knows what he is talking about by throwing out a name...

It seems like it's in vogue to jump on BiggioBrooks755 whenever he posts, calling him ignorant etc. If we actually looked at current prices on Strasburg and recalled historical pricing his cards fit perfectly. Back when he was in the Minor his cards were as hot as anyone's. His 2010 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Autograph was around $1000 I recall, and it may have been higher (and other cards were even hotter). Now that same gold refractor can be had for roughly $300 despite the fact that Strasburg is still really young and still has ace potential.
Honestly it takes far less intelligence or hobby knowledge to rehash the big names of yesteryear who are now nobodies without providing any historical information about prices or about what was going on at that time in the hobby than it takes to identify someone who fits, but is not immediately obvious. (It takes even less intelligence and hobby knowledge to ignore the content of a post and just hurl insults based on a perception of the author.) Strasburg is a great example of a player whose card values are not what they used to be despite his age and potential.
And it perfectly fit the OP. You just don't like him.To your first point, if he didnt post dumb crap all the time, people wouldn't think he's a *******.
Second, you're talking about an active player who has been in the bigs about 3 years and it's barely the beginning of spring training; the time when card prices start to increase. Plenty of time to see those prices rise back up.
He could have come up with at least ten different players who would fit the bill for this conversation: Delmon, Lastings Milledge, Dallas McPherson, Rickie Weeks, etc.
But no, he decides to be edgy and tosses out Strasburg's name.
In 1990, I saved my lunch money for a couple of weeks and dropped $30 to buy a 1987 Fleer Will Clark.
They go for 18 cents over on sportlots these days.![]()

Nice story.Where did you meet him?I bought some boxes years ago just for the thrill of pulling that card.
99% of all hot rookie cards, especially of prospects, were once worth much more than they are now.
Even most Hall of Famers' rookie cards from the '60s through '80s are worth considerably less now.
I'm looking at an April 1993 Beckett, and here are some examples of the astronomical prices of some of the more popular Hall of Famers rookie cards from 21 years ago.
1965 Steve Carlton $575
1968 Nolan Ryan $1,650
1969 Reggie Jackson $750
1973 Mike Schmidt $500
1974 Dave Winfield $165
1975 George Brett $225
1975 Robin Yount $225
1980 Rickey Henderson $150
This is raw, not graded, of course, and whatever a dealer wanted to call Near Mint condition, which could be as low as excellent condition to the untrained eye back then.
Even now, as more and more of those vintage HOF rookies get graded, the prices will go down as supply increases.
eBay is already saturated with dozens of new graded rookies of every player, and you can buy beautiful PSA 8 rookies for far less of what they were worth raw in lesser condition 20 years ago.
There is just too much supply out there, and demand lowers each year with collectors leaving the hobby.
