At auction, fair to expect $15,000?

I think $20k would he pushing it. $15k-$17k sounds about right. A PSA 5 went for nearly $13k.

That was my chief concern when I purchased it. I went over the card itself a hundred times each way and sideways. Looks good to me all the way around. Dropped some serious coin on it, but should get a decent return on it in a quick flip.

I wish I had another $20-$30k on hand. This guys collection was amazing. I had a choice between 1960's rc and stars graded mostly at 8's or this Mantle. I just couldn't pass up on the Mantle.

I told someone the other day in PM, he can verify if he wants, that I was going to look at a collection for sale. In my wildest dreams I coukdn't have imagined how incredible it was. Once I flip the Mantle, if he hasn't sold the other cards, I'll go back and get them as well.

This is one of those once in a lifetime finds. Well, for me twice in a lifetime. I found something like this years ago. They sure don't come along often. I'm stoked.

I wish :lol: I'll be happy with a $5-$6,000 profit though. Which seems to be a fair estimate. Cost me nothing more than a care ride and the chance to personally see one of the nicest collections I have seen in the past 25 years.

I don't know of many fakes that were graded as the fakes are very easy to tell. Most of the issues were from people resealing holders and either faking labels or using a good label over and over ala WIWAG.

I think you're leaving money on the table by selling it on ebay.

Huggins and Scott sold a PSA 7 for $38K in December 2010, and a PSA 6 for $22k in May 2009.

I think yours could go for $25-30k.

This. There's no way I would sell a card of this magnitude via eBay. Give it to an auction house, maybe Huggins and Scott like David mentioned. REA is also good. You'll pay more in fees, but you'll end up further ahead.

You'd get more I think as well than on eBay. All depends on the fees you'd pay if you pay 30% to the auction house then it may not be worth it.

depends on the auction house yes, but for a card of this magnitude id make darn sure i wasn't paying any fees and had the buyer pay the fees.
