My only complaint with them is that they DID NOT send all my cards in toploaders, but instead did two toploaders on the outside, every thing else penny sleeves and then a team bag. For the price I paid I would have liked everything in toploaders, but other than that, it was fine.

Oh and by the way, you do save a lot on shipping if you can buy from the same seller and not a bunch of different ones, just like on ebay.

Are you thinking of a different site? I'm pretty sure COMC
stores and ships all of the sellers cards, therefore they determine
the s&h charges.

Btw - Their site is down right now ::facepalm::

I dont know for sure, but I thought the last time I bought stuff last week, I bought a bunch of stuff from one seller and they had lumped it all together. Maybe not, will have to go back and check. Reminds me I need to check today both COMC and CR for more Thome stuff...

What I love about this site is that you can buy cards on different days and have them sit in your account and get them shipped to you at once. I don't mind that they make money off of shipping - it's easier for me to tear into one package for 12 cards, then 12 seperate packages with one card a piece.

Sure, it's a pain to buy a common card for $.50 and then have to pay an extra $.25 to ship it, but it sure beats winning it on ebay for $.50 and then having to pay $2-$3 to ship that one card. Most ebay sellers that I've dealt with have an additional charge if you win more than one item anyways - I have no problem with it.

It's great site for a player collector, IMO. I've found some great stuff there and as long as you have some $ in your account you can make a best offer which certaintly comes in handy. You're not going to find the rarest cards on there, but it's nice to be able to pick up stuff that sellers won't waiste their time listing on ebay.

I don't like their penny sleeves (I'm picky) - but they protect the cards, and I've never had a problem with the condition of the cards when I receive them. All in all, I think it's a great site.

They actually used to have max shipping of $25 last year which was great as i'd just store hundreds of card purchases and have them shipped all at once for $25. With the new 25 cent per card charge, it made buying base cards too expensive but its still ok for buying inserts and higher priced cards. There was actually a big discussion on the shipping charges on the blowout boards where the COMC owner actually came in to explain the reason for the charge and such.

I don't mind at all.

I've got so many great deals from that site. I just look at it like separate purchases + .25 shipping per card. I still come out way ahead.

I loveee the site.

When compared, it's also much better than buying from multiple sellers on the Beckett Marketplace.

I thought this was a great idea for a site as they aggregate a bunch of low end cards in one place to theoretically make it cheaper to fill holes in your collection. I bought a decent amount 10-20 cards with the most expensive being $3, but most being in the under $1 category. I was a little surprised when my shipping total was $8.25 but figured they would be sending a box or something. Fast forward to receiving the package, and I got a bubble mailer with a stamp for $1.90 on it. Needless to say I was pretty upset, so I emailed them. They responded that I would have paid closer to $40 if I bought the cards from individual sellers on eBay so I should have been happy with the $8 shipping. Had these cards not been aggregated, I would have never bought them. They didn't address the underlying issue of marking up shipping a tremendous amount. I'm going into rant mode now, so I'll stop. I won't be using this site again and anyone who does should be aware of the shipping policies.

I think the big piece you are missing here is that you are paying for not only the shipping cost, but also the materials for shipping and probably the largest cost, the time it takes one of their employees to find, pull, and package the EXACT CARDS you purchased. I have no clue how they have the cards in their warehouse organized, but if you bought the cards from multiple different sellers I imagine it takes a bit of time to get all of the exact cards ready for shipment.

I like COMC as both a seller and a buyer as they have up front fees and do all of the work.

I have got nothing but wonderful deals on COMC and its got to be a logistical nightmare trying to track down 20 cards out of the million plus they have on the site

I actually made my first purchase on COMC the other day. Picked up a card for my PC that I have never seen surface before. Had a decent offer/counteroffer take place and picked it up. $3 shipping and it went out the day I bought it. For $3 shipping, as long as I get it in a bubble mailer with penny sleeve and toploader, I will be ecstatic.

Love COMC, as both a buyer and seller. Hope it fully and totally supplants eBay for card transactions (traffic and volume of sellers are the only thing that is holding them back, and both have increased monthly since they launched).

As for shipping, another advantage (as a seller) is that it is actually worth my time and money to purchase low end cards, since I don't even have to ship them - I can buy a card for .40, keep it in my account, and (ideally) flip it for $2 later - something I could never do with any other site, due to being killed on the shipping in the first place.

Lastly, and I'm not sure if many think or care about this, but I do...it kills me to have to buy through 11 different sellers and get 11 different bubble mailers, just to think of the amount of waste this generates - COMC combined shipping is a great way to eliminate this, and makes it much easier on your own time in opening packages.

I really like COMC. I only wish they had more cards. These guys do a great job with organization and detail. Every card scanned is the ACTUAL card you are getting.

I picked up about 30 cards one time and I was totally happy to pay 25 cents for every card after the first. As said before, if I would have bought all those cards from different sellers I would have paid an average of $3 shipping on each and every card. Simple math shows I saved quite a bit after my first card of the 30.

29 cards at .25 cents each shipping equals $7.25
or if I would have bought individually on ebay
29 cards at an average of $3 shipping equals $87

As a player collector I would have eventually over time done the latter if it weren't for COMC.

How can one purchase cards and leave them in their account to be shipped at a later date?

Just click the 'flag to ship' button under 'manage inventory', and then you can keep adding cards to the pending shipment by doing the same whenever you want (continuing to hit 'flag to ship'). When you're ready to have the shipment sent to you, just click 'request shipment'.

Thanks for your response. I must be a little slow, because I'm still not getting it. I have three cards in my cart I want to purchase, but I'm not seeing any option to delay the shipment and avoid paying S&H fees.

Well, if you add store credit, you can make offers on cards. Then, if you win the card, it goes to your inventory.

When you buy a card outright without store credit, I don't think this option is available. Your order ships.

I'm pretty sure this is the case. I buy with store credit all the time, so I'm not 100% sure.
