Oakland Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, the third major league player to be accused of DUI during spring training.
The A's said in a statement that Crisp was arrested early Wednesday in Scottsdale. He was released from jail and arrived at Phoenix Municipal Stadium on time to take part in pre-game drills before Oakland's exhibition against the Cleveland Indians.
Crisp was in the clubhouse before the game but did not speak with reporters.
The team said it is taking Crisp's situation ''seriously" and will have no further comment ''until further details are available."
Detroit's Miguel Cabrera was arrested last month in Florida on suspicion of DUI, and Cleveland's Austin Kearns is facing a similar charge after being pulled over in Kentucky and arrested on Feb. 12.
