I have never really followed college baseball. Being from Oregon, we really didn't have much to watch or follow until a few years ago when Oregon State won a few championships. But I will probably try to get out to a few games now that University of Oregon has a team and the new field is a few miles from where I live.

I am just curious if Phil Knight's money can make this sport good here like he has with football.

I wish! College pitchers are kept under the hats of the coaches until about an hour or so before game time, but almost always the staff aces throw on Friday nights.

'Cats win their season opener against Troy 8-3 today.

Play two games tomorrow against James Madison and Coastal Carolina...also play Coastal one more game Sunday.

I've got the fever.

Damn! UCR is giving Cal a game. I almost went to this game to shoot Kelly but he's not pitching so I lucked out. Hopefully they'll hold him for Stanford on Sunday.

hey scuba..

doesn't it give you a great feeling though? I've got a sinus infection and I still got a small case of goosebumps from the game today...and watching highlights from last season. When I was a kid I always started getting that warm excited goose bumpy feeling around spring training....

Now it happens in February.... ok, back to feeling sick, lol...back to the couch.

Sure does. I watched that video the first time you posted it and even though I don't care about UK, it was more than enough to get me amp'd up for tonight. I leave work in about 45 minutes to go home, get my gear, and head to the ballpark!

I'd like to point out that it's total horse pucky that Wisconsin doesn't have a baseball team. makes me want to find barry Alveraz and grab him by his fat head and say "listen man, we're not goin' ta jail for YOU or anybody"...got a little off-track there.

I mean, the JUCO (Madison Area Tech College) actually has a pretty good team from year to year. And there is a Northwoods league here too, which are fun to go to. But I'd just prefer to go to games that mattered a little more.

i guess I'll have to for-go college and make a few trips up to the Fox Valley and catch the Timberrattlers and lawrie.

Miami wins the opening series 3 games to 1 over Rutgers. Lost the only game in bizarre fashion. Rutgers had a guy on 1st with no outs, runner takes off as the batter lays down a sac bunt, play is made to 1st base for the out but the runner takes third on the throw to first. Runner then takes home as the pitcher gets the ball, doesnt pay attention, and no one covers home.

I'm a little ticked off. Free audio has been removed from UK baseball.... it said live video was available if I signed up for Extreme Access... so of course I decided to plop down the dough.... "Technical difficulties"

oh and the 'Cats are KILLING Western Michigan 10-1 in the 3rd.... :|
