Yesterday i had a bidder ask if they might pay with a money order for an auction I have running.
I politely told him that new ebay policy requires that I accept paypal, and other electronic payments, blah, blah, blah.
He contacted ebay to clarify the answer I gave him and I received this responce from ebay.
IF I CAN ACCEPT THESE PAYMENTS, WHY IN BLUE H*LL CAN'T I STATE THAT IN MY AUCTIONS?
"Dear jtnbigbuck10,
This message is in response to a conversation I had over eBay's live
help system with one of your customers, (xxxxxxxxxxx). He contacted us
to clarify that it is permissible within eBay policy for you to accept a
Money Order as payment.
*My bolding of the quoted material from the email.
"While it is not permitted for money orders to be listed as an accepted
payment method, nor to be requested as a payment method by the seller
you can accept this form of payment from your buyer upon the buyer's
request if you are so inclined. "
