Re: Contest for 2 Slots in 2010 Topps Update Case Break/Boxes

Mine have already been used so I'll use a moment of when I was at a game.

I went to the first ever playoff game in Rays history at Tropicana Field, which was game 1 of the 2008 ALDS vs the White Sox. We had tix to the Whitney Bank Club. They were like $125 each and included an all-u-can-eat buffet and all-u-can-drink bar. I'm not a White Sox fan really, but Paul Konerko was always my favorite player growing up and I had a huge PC of his. I decided to wear my authentic 2005 black White Sox World Series jersey. Needless to say, I was the only person in White Sox garb in our suite. By the time the 9th inning rolled around, the White Sox were down 6-3 and I was still hammered from drinking all game. I actually got cut off by the bartender at the "all-u-can-drink" service bar in like the 5th inning, before the 7th inning standard cutoff. We had moved from our suite in the RF corner to another one closer to 1st base and nobody cared since the game was almost over. Me and my friends went to the club level and took a few empty seats.

Konerko led off the inning with a home run and I went nuts, belligerently drunk and all. Shortly after a Rays fan a couple rows down from us held up a sign that said "RAYS SHINNING IN OCTOBER!!" with the word "shining" obviously misspelled. Upon seeing this, my friend and I proceeded to yell at this person and phonetically yell out the word "shinning" constantly while berating these people, and we stayed to berate them at least 10 minutes after the last pitch. At least 3/4 of the section were laughing at us.

Those are the only actual memories I have of the game. Everything else is blacked out. Two pictures can sum up the evening:

Honrable mentions

Sid Bream scoring on Francisco Cabrera's pinch hit single.

My dad cut out the picture from the sports page the next day that had the headline "By the Skin of a Cleat" and it was posted on our kitchen fridge for about 3-4 years before we moved.

Edgar Renteria singling in Counsell (I lived in South Florida at the time)
Andruw Jones 2 HR's in 1996 WS
Paul Konerko's GS in the 2005 WS (he's my favorite player)

Luis Gonzalez's game-winning hit in game 7 of the 2001 World Series to give the Dbacks the series and stick a dagger in the Yankees' heart that resulted in almost a decade-long championship drought.

Game 6 of the 95 World Series. David Justice's home run. Tom Glavine pitching a gem. Wohlers getting the save. Grissom making the catch to seal the deal. IT. WAS. AWESOME

Unfortunately, Gibson's Home Run was very memorable. I was about 12 and a HUGE Bash Brothers fan at the time. I think I cried when he hit that shot.

Thanx for the contest.

The Reds 1990 sweep. I was sneaking the radio into bed on those school days to listen to it. What a great year.

Endy Chavez's catch in the 2006 NLCS, just incredible. I reacted to it before the rest of my family and guests did because I was watching a different TV in the house. Quite funny.

1965 World Series. Koufax pitches back-to-back complete game shutouts in Games 5 and 7, the second with two days rest! No babying star pitchers back then.

Mine was last year. I was sitting in a hospital room holding my 1 day old son while watching game 1 of the world series. There is nothing like that.

Maddux defeating Hersheiser in Game 1 of the 95 series---i was 9 and was there---amazing experience, especially since the Braves got their trophy that year

2007 Yankees Vs Indians. Swarms of flies come out to disrupt the yankee defense and pitcher Joba Chamberlain.

2004 Red Sox comeback in game 4 vs Yanks. Then rest that followed. Not a big Red Sox fan, but seeing a team back back being down 0-3 and losing late in game 4 . May never see a comeback like that ever again in MLB baseball playoffs.

Fisk's homerun in game 6 of the 75 World Series. I still get goosebumps when I see that...
