best young center or best young center?

28/15/3/2/1.4 over his last 5 games. he has games where he just dominates the opposition's bigs. and he's just 21

Agreed. Very good center, crappy team crappy attitude, HEADCASE.

I'd take Bynum and Dwight over him.

nope. its called youth, and an idiot coach [westphail] who doesn't know how to work with people. DMC is already better than Bynum, and he's doing it on a bad team, with a coach who plain did not like him for his entire rookie season plus the beginning of this season.

Been saying it for awhile, DMC will be the best center in the NBA in 2-3 years. Love how everyone talks crap on his personality but the kid can play.

Youth is a license to be a headcase?

Im guessing the players who he gets in fights with on his own team are idiots as well? Or the throwing his own players under the bus? He's a prima dona. He hasn't done squat in the NBA. He is having a good year sure.

Guy is a nutcase and yes he has talent but he is not better than Bynum nor Dwight.

Headcase? He's just young,

sincerely,

Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Ron art......er meta world peace, and Allen "practice" Iverson

There's no doubting his talent, the question is if he can be coached and if he can get along with teammates.

The Kings knew they were gambling when they drafted him.

Sure, he's going to put up the numbers, but can he maintain team chemistry and help carry a team deep into the playoffs?

My sources say no way.

who is he fighting on his team? Do you have direct quotes of him throwing his teammates under the bus? I can't recollect any examples of this.

does he even fight his teammates as often as Kevin Love does?

Common knowledge that him and Evans don't get along and have gotten into it.

and for the fight.

will this suffice?

Iverson, Moss, T.O. ... all headcases but all allstar players for MULTIPLE years.

i know of no "common knowledge" that Reke and DMC "dont get along".

and what you linked, well that was over a year ago. dude was 20. Westphal never liked him. anything recent?

how come Kevin Love isn't labeled a headcase? dude is plenty old enough to not like a teenager. and he has a coach/organization that loves him.

Should ask the Media, I was commenting on Demarcus Cousins and my perception that he is a headcase. I then cited other sources that agreed. I am sure you could find sources that portray Kevin Love as a bad teamate/sportsman.

I do not really follow the timberwolves but somewhat watch the Kings since they are in our division.

"other sources" being an aolnews [lol] link from his rookie year when he got in a scrub with a scrub teammate? ok dude.

found this on sactown royalty, a quality kings blog [most sbn blogs are decent to great]

To truly understand the magnitude of what DeMarcus did tonight, I pulled up Basketball-Reference's Game Finder to see what other big men had scored 41 points and recorded 12 rebounds in a single game by the age of 21. The records only go back to 1985-86, but even so it's an impressive list: Shaquille O'Neal (3x), Blake Griffin (2x), Andrew Bynum, Elton Brand and ... Antoine Walker (Durant also made the list twice but I don't consider him a big).

Are you questioning the quality of the AOL news article? I am assuming because its from "aol news" you find it less of an article than if posted on a "quality blog"? The author of that article writes for SI online, CNN online and a few other sources.

I think you failed to understand my argument. Demarcus Cousins is a headcase. I never said he wasn't a good center, I believe his mental stability and immature attitude will hold him back in the long run. My statement still holds true that I would take Bynum and Dwight over him. I'm sure you could find multiple GMS that would agree with my statement and multiple GMS that would agree with your statement.

In fact my original post states:
Agreed. Very good center, crappy team crappy attitude, HEADCASE.

I'd take Bynum and Dwight over him.

I would take Cousins eaily over Bynum. Bynum is too injury prone and is appearing to be a headcase of his own as of late.

Dwight is the best center in the league

i am trying to say that the media is ridiculous and makes up heroes and villains all the time [ask LeBron]... two young athletes having a tussle does not make one of them a "HEADCASE" ... and I mention a "quality blog" because its much easier to avoid the pitfalls of lazy journalism/storytelling that way. also a better way to get a straight story.

Dwight is Dwight... right now I would probably take him... by a hair. DMC is a better low-post offensive player, better passer, and better free-throw shooter... and honestly, considering how much more DMC could develop, I could really go either way.

I would absolutely take DMC over Bynum, who, huffamaniac mentioned, is a bit of a headcase in his own right, and that foul he laid out on Barea in the playoffs last year was ridiculous and was worse than anything DMC has done.

No GM is taking Cousins over Dwight.

Probably quite a few would take Cousins over Bynum.

because Dwight is a bigger commodity. sure. they'd lose their job if they did. Dwight does have the upper hand defensively, for sure.

with regards to offensive talent, both currently and potentially though, DMC is way ahead. Dwight's footwork has greatly improved, but he only has that and his size/athleticism. DMC could and likely will develop a good 15-20 footer to go along with his already stellar moves/footwork in the post. add in his FT% and his passing ability, and the fact that he is still learning, and its not even close for me.

I wouldn't blame a GM for taking Dwight though. If I'm a GM though, I'd go DMC. unless I have $100-mil+ to spare and an owner demanding I get a big name.

But if Cousins is as good as you say, then he'll get a max deal just like Howard so how much does that matter?

I'm not knocking cousins, and i understand your defense of him. It's clear you have a Level 5 Man-Crush on Cousins. Don't worry about it, that's me with Rondo.

Cousins over DH12....never. Cousins is lazy and makes it strictly on talent (which he does have an abundance of)......I'd take Kevin Love 10 times over Cousins though, I might even consider Brook Lopez over Cousins as well......but I will admit at this point in time Cousins trumps Bynum. Cousins will never hit it big because of the team, the town, his reputation and the the scary fact he could spring a loose wire at any time.
