Crusadefest green 2009 has ended...

I snagged a few but they were football.At the prices you guys were picking up commons I was able to pick up a decent player(albeit retired) in Eddie George.Can't wait to have it.

Question though...

Am I the only one who wishes there wasn't a high amount of interest in these and other 90's inserts?Pretty soon I am going to be out priced out of my nice little niche of the hobby I have enjoyed for three years.

whenever Ive looked at them, the football ones seem to go for a lot lower. like you said one could get a star for the price of a common

They look VERY different,the football ones arent nearly as nice,sharp in hand.

I don't know how I feel about picking it up though. I mean, I am extremely happy, but now I'm just like "Now what?" They're just going to go in a box. Maybe I'll make a display for them or something. I don't know - I just feel like now that the "chase" is over, I can retire. I guess silently I was hoping to always get outsniped on my purple - you know keep the collecting juices going.

I hope no one takes that the wrong way, and I'm glad the player collector's got their cards - but the whole crusade thing lost its allure right now to me. Of course, I don't think we'll see another massive selloff like this again anytime soon

I agree in a sense. Now that I have the rainbow, what's next? Well, I'm grading the purple and red and then possibly making a display for the 3. After that, I'm moving on to obtaining more 1998 Topps Tek, as well as close in on some years that have 1 or 2 cards missing. There's always something to do with the PC!

Sorry about your feelings about the Crusades but trust me buddy...unless you are collecting a super obscure player...there are far more rare and harder to find pieces to pick up.I still need a purple and Red Bags but its not that I have never seen them...I just can't afford them.I don't think I would be bummed in the least to land them.That would be more like a feeling of relief.
