Well, the day we all feared is upon us....Edlose Jackson returns to the mound Friday night.

Oh yeah, and he's facing Clayton Kershaw. This could be the largest difference in skill level between starting pitchers in MLB history.

Driving back to work after lunch, on the SCORE radio station here in Chicago they noted this is only the 2nd time since 1913 that a pitcher with a sub 2.00 ERA squared off against a pitcher with an ERA above 6.00 ERA (after July, I think they said).

Does anybody here happen to have an extra Ernie Banks SGA bobblehead from this year? He will be signing at a show here in Minnesota in November and I am thinking of trying to get the bobblehead signed. I have an extra Harmon Killebrew SGA All-Star bobblehead from this year that I would love to trade for it, or would consider buying as well.

Nice one.

Here's last month's Immaculate pickups for the Grace PC.

Can't quite place my finger on it, but for some reason that first one is the worst of the group...

I like the autos on the black surface, not sure if the /25 and /1 are as different in person or if it's the scan, but that 1/1 looks really nice.

Great card that, in my opinion, you absolutely "stole" given what you won it for. Congrats.

Thanks James! The listing had a very good title, but I feel it didn't get as many eyes as only "barrel" was referenced and "bat" was not in it. I was really shocked I won it for that price. I didn't have too higher of a bid in the first place.

Last week I was looking at this thread and clicked on your Cap Anson website. Spent some time going through it and wanted to say that it looks great. The story of the autographed book was incredible, as well as the postcard investigation, I can't believe fans survived sitting without protection. I've already read 'A Ball Player's Career' and 'Wrigleyville' but will look into some of those other books you've listed, I've always enjoyed reading books that combine sports with the lifestyles at the time (also enjoyed Ty Cobb/Cy Young/George Mikan biographies).

Just posted this in the January Pick-up Thread, but here's my newest contribution to this thread
