I love the trade for the cubs.

Three solid starters locked up. Would love to see them get demspter back on a 3 year deal.

I agree Skrip. Haren, Shark, and Garza is a nice improvement over last year

angels were paying haren to leave tomorrow, if they coudlnt trade him. I'm guessing they have something going with greinke and needed to dump these guys to make it happen. I doubt dipoto would dump haren, if he wasnt pretty damn sure greinke was hanging around. With hunter, haren, santana all gone, add marmols 1 year salary, they have saved a ton to offer to greinke.

It does make sense for them, since their key is too lock up Greinke. Still like the trade for the Cubs.

cubs get a great starter and the angels get a closer or 8th inning guy, which they needed and some money to give to greinke. Marmol started horrible, but he pitched well for my fantasy team in the second half. Don't know the exact stats.
Angels just need a 3rd baseman and a new mgr now.

Marmol pitched better but he's still a roller coaster in the 9th. If Haren can bounce back this a home run for the Cubs FO

I would use Marmol in the eight. The Friero(sp) guy is lights out.

I understand the home run part, but the angels were dumping him. SO marmol is better than paying him 3.5 mil to walk tomorrow morning.

Fantastic trade for the Cubs. Marmol's control is so horrible that he will be functionally worthless if he ever loses a bit of zip on the fastball or tilt on the slider.

Is there a pitcher with more consecutive 30+ start seasons than Haren?? I can't find one, but I'm still looking. (05-12, 8 seasons) Talk about a dependable pitcher. Great trade for the Cubbies....I honestly wouldn't have minded to see the Sox go after him to bolster their rotation.

Haren will rebound. His cards have almost always been cheap. Some moderate spikes here and there but nowhere near high numbers.

Not what Im reading/hearing/heard. The angels have until midnight to trade him and are working with at least one other team. If they don't move him, the word is they will buy him out at 3.5 mil and let him walk. Then use the money from santana, hunter, haren, to sign greinke.

Wow this happens twice with the Cubs in the last 6 months? First Dempster and Atl and now this. Kinda frustrating if this trade doesn't happen
