I am sitting here writing a small paper for my English class, and it is on my first MLB game. I figured there is such an age range here, and people on different parts of the country, I wanted to see what everyone else got to enjoy during their first game.

I will type mine after I am done with my paper.

Here is the box score...

I see A-Rod had a 2 homer day.

Lohse started that day. I don't think I saw him much after that, but he did start for the Cardinals during an exhibition game at Target Field

I don't remember a whole lot... it was fun though.

Fenway in 1998 when I was 7. Wakefield pitched against the Rangers. All I can really remember about the game was sitting in right field. Still have the ticket stub somewhere.

I attended the Cubs/Phillies game on September 5, 1996 when Curt was pitching. During an at bat, he fouled this ball off into the seats near me. The man who caught the ball saw that I was a Schilling fan and was kind enough to give me the ball. I met Curt in person a few years later and had it signed.

I grew up a Blue Jays fan on Canada's east coast, so when I moved to Toronto for university in September 1998 the first thing I did was go see a game at the SkyDome. I got there when the gates first opened so I could walk around and check everything out. I remember my seat was on the first base side about a dozen rows up from the dugout, and the ticket cost $29.50 (same seat in 2011 will be $62+). Before the game, I noticed a couple of guys on the third base side signing autographs, so I brought my ball down. As I walked down the aisle, I realized they were rookies and I didn't know who they were. They were standing about a section apart on either side of the aisle I was coming down, so I went to the guy on the left first. It was Kevin Brown, a back-up catcher who never really went anywhere in the Majors. As I headed over to the other rookie to get his 'graph, he turned and went into the dugout. I noticed the name on his jersey: "Halladay".

It was a long time ago, can't remember it was too young. My 2nd game was in 07 when Bonds hit #742, and the Giants won :)

It was a Yankees-Indians game at Yankee Stadium in 1995 when I was 9. I actually just looked up the boxscore this summer to find out the exact date since I knew the teams, the year, that it was in the summer, and that it was a Saturday. The only date that matched up was 8/12/95 and the Yanks won 3-2. My only memory is that I was really disappointed that I wouldn't catch any foul balls because my uncle got us seats behind the home plate netting.

Angels v. Rangers, 4th of July 1987.

My first year of collecting baseball cards and my first baseball game.

It was a great summer.

It was sunny and it was a very relaxing and exciting experience.

Mine was at a Mariners game in the Kingdome...
April 30, 1979 (I remember because it was my 10th birthday present and the game was 5 days after my birthday!)

Mariners tie score in bottom of 9th on homerun by a guy named Joe Simpson! Very exciting!!!!
However, Baltimore came back and score in the 10th and eventually won the game. Very bummed!!!!

Here's the real cool part:
I scooped up a foul ball from Orioles player Al Bumbry! Yes, 1st game = Foul Ball!
Who would have known in 30+ years later I would only do that one other time!

I know it was at a Phillies game and I'm fairly certain it was against the Reds. I know we were sitting in the 1rst base area. Me, my dad, and maybe my brother too.

First one I can remember specific details:

1988 All-Star Game @ Riverfront Stadium, I was 7.

Got autographs of Daryl Strawberry, Chris Sabo and Danny Jackson on a ball. Tried like hell to get Wade Boggs to no avail.

Terry Steinbach MVP.

All I remember was I got a shirt that was about 5 sizes to big and that I got ice cream in one of those helmet bowls. I'm not even sure who the teams were, It was in Texas though so probably Rangers.

I don't remember exactly when it was, but it was the first or second year of the Dome. We sat about as high as you could get in the upper deck. It was Mother's Day and they gave kids Twins sweat socks.

1948 or 1949 in Philadelphia.

Cleveland Indians vs Philadelphia Athletics

Satchel Paige vs (?)

I believe I remember that Satchel Paige won the game but I have not been able to find stats from a game either year to verify it. (Can any one help me on this?)

I was 10 at the time and remember that the 125 mile ride to Philadelphia from home (Berwick) took forever.

Here are the 4 games in which Satchel Paige pitched in Philadelphia in either 1948 or 1949: http://www.baseball-reference.com/play- ... reit/C4u30

The only game the Indians (of those 4) was the July 15, 1948 game. He was pitching in relief, and it was his first Major League win (and just 2nd appearance). Take a look at the box scores and see if anything is familiar. Only one game (June 20, 1949) was NOT part of a doubleheader, so that may help. Interestingly, Paige was the Indians' last pitcher in all 4 games.

I was never given the opportunity to see a live game during my childhood. The first game I attended was a double-header at Wrigley Field between the Reds and Cubs on July 27, 1977.

I skipped work that day and decided to go with my young wife and her nephew who was a huge Reds fan. The game was sold out and had to purchase standing room only tickets. Didn't get a seat until the middle of the second game in the upper deck along the 1st baseline.

The Cubs where really bad then, and of course the Reds where the "Big Red Machine" with Rose, Morgan, Bench, Griffey Sr., Foster, and Concepcion. Cubs split the double header.

1982 - Phillies vs. Reds at Riverfront Stadium. It was a very rainy evening and there were at least two long rain delays. We sat in the center-field green seats. I was just about nine years old at the time, so I remember a few things. Pete Rose's two hits were both bunts. Jim Kern struck out Mike Schmidt looking, and I could hear the catchers glove pop all of the way out in CF on Kern's pitches. Paul Householder's fly-ball to end the game was very nearly a homerun. And Johnny Bench was in the on-deck circle when the game ended.

I still have the souvenir facsimile autographed team baseball that my dad bought for me that night. It was $3. My dad was unemployed at the time and $3 was probably a much bigger deal than I realized. I'll never get rid of that silly little ball.

And that was a REALLY BAD Reds team...

Went with my mom & her boyfriend.

Cardinals vs. Phillies. 2003. The day before school began. Amaeury Telemaco against Matt Morris I think.

Sterling Hitchcock pitched, it was his Cardinals debut too.

Looking at the box score, they won 5-3. Jim Edmonds was 4-4.
