I believe he was in 2010 Bowman. Still have a few of those sitting around. Hope he lights them up.

I think he was too but not an auto I do believe. I have found a for gold and some blues of his and I too have some things. I hope he lights up the Yankees so I can list the stuff as soon as that happens

Yes, he was in 2010 Bowman and that's about it. His base chrome card seemed to be paired with Strasburg in packs. At least that was the impression I got from the collation of my boxes. And since the LCS had pulled the same number of Strasburgs and Crosbys. Anyway as a Tigers fan, I took a flyer on him and bought a decent number of his base chrome, 3 gold and 1 blue refractors. If he limits his walks, I think he'll be fine. Otherwise it could be ugly.

Hope the kid does well, but I wouldn't expect a Smylyesque performance out of him if I were you.

I agree. I have talked to his mother via-email since she rights for the Beacon News here in the hood. She says he has pitched well from the games she has been able to make in person or watch on the internet. But she hopes he can just make a good showing for now, and then maybe get better with time in the league.

The Yankees always seem to have trouble with pitchers that they haven't seen before.

Who knows, maybe he pitches well his first game.

Looks like the Yankees figured Crosby out: Granderson just hit a grand slam in the 2nd

Wildness killing him. Walks 4 in the 2nd, including walking in a run, and Granderson clears em with a grand slam. Gotta throw strikes, kid, especially to the likes of Jayson Nix

I watched Crosby in Low-A, and the kid has terrific stuff. The problem is, like everyone, the Tigers rushed him. He was terrific in Low-A in 2009, then missed basically all of 2010 due to elbow soreness or whatever. For 2011, they jump High-A, and assign him to AA. He struggled all year, with a horrendous WHIP. So of course they send him to AAA this year-and was struggling with control again, until his last 2 starts-when his control was spot on.

It's a shame, because the Tigers do this to every good arm they have. Porcello, Turner, and now Crosby. All of each have been rushed-Porcello and Crosby more than Turner. They had no business giving him this start today-it was a recipe for disaster.

They don't do this with pitchers exclusively.
