Also interesting to see what other stuff Razor has been selling on that ebay account. Looks like they busted a lot of Exquisite football.
This and this alone is why this a dangerous situation.

Everything is perception, and while Brian's hobby shop and Razor are two completely different legal entities, people view them as the same. That is a problem.

The fact that you (matchpenalty), a major supporter of everything they do, view these auctions as what "Razor has been selling" is a colossal eff up on Brian's part. The blurring of lines is never good.

This is why this was a "big deal"...more on a business perception than anything shady level...but it is/was a problem.

What do mean it belongs to Brian? According to this post, it belongs to Dan, who is THE EDGEMAN  :

I remember when EDGEMAN was spamming bmb with Razor stuff, that was fun.

Yeah, of all the moves Razor has done, this is the worst in my book. This product went from being brilliant to now having a huge question mark to it. Half to believe BG would agree, those ebay inkwork auctions got taken down mighty fast when the account was linked to Razor. Why else would they do that so quick if they didn't think it looked bad.
This will even add more interest in seeing the breaks on this stuff when it comes out. Even to people who have no interest at all in the product. They will still want to see what kind of bigger hits come out and what most box breaks end up looking like value wise. I wonder who many people have cancelled orders. I know PManning did. What effect box/case prices have had since the news. Will have to see how it all plays out. I still plan on busting a few packs and getting couple singles off ebay to add a little flavor to my collection.

I have to say that I was fairly neutral on this. As long as what he advertises is in the product show up, I'm cool.

However, I now see a bigger issue.

His other company won this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... gory=14431

Is this the "three levels of authentication" that he used for the presidential cuts? A completely non-reputable authentication company? It is too far back to see if he won some of the presidential cuts on the aitexas name but it is concerning.

One of main reasons they really need to go above and beyond and make Razor Ink Archives a home run for collectors who still purchase it.
Would be cool if Beefy could get BG on a podcast real soon and discuss this stuff.

I hope they do to, but like I said, if the product is as described I don't think there is much way to lose on it, but we'll see. Only about 6 weeks 'til it's supposed to be released.

All indications are that the InkWorks packaged product will be a success and will provide a ton of great value for those who open it so nothing needs to be addressed there are far as I am concerned.

Razor is just trying to get everything to work...and there are serious growing pains and weird decisions being made.

He has made every effort along to way to correct mistakes, just as in this case...but perception is so much stronger than reality when it comes to the public view.

In regards to Brian addressing it, there is no need on a public level as he clearly has reacted correctly already.

Now...if he could stop shooting himself in the foot, he'll be onto something big.

Yeah, I do agree 200lbs. Compared to most products this should do well. Even if packs are getting $15, worst case you get a really common/no count auto that should still sell in the $5-$10 range and one touch holder. It's not like these autos are flooding the market like some sports autos are that sell for 99 cents. Still a very low risk buy in. With a decent chance at break even or making money on this stuff. For big time non sports collectors this has to be a dream release for them. Last night I won my first inkworks auto and cost me $11.50 delivered and was just trying to find a cheap one to own one. As long as box/pack prices don't get out of control, this stuff should still be a big winner for the collector and Razor.

But now you're flooding the market with those low level people. I'd venture a guess that the value will drop atleast a few bucks.

I was really looking forward to this product. A few names I was really hoping to pull.... Rose McGowen, Alyssa Milano and Angelina Jolie. I know they would come close to paying for the case.... but it would have been hard to sell if I got 1 of them.

With the flood of autos that will hit when the product releases.... I might be able to pick one up for a nice amount..... maybe a McGowen.

This has been my response to the razor letterman secondary market flop.

Anyone know the details of the INkworks sale of this bulk buy of autograph cards. Was this a public type auction or from a bankrupcy type deal. It would be interesting to know the exact amount of cards Razor purchased. It's been said they have enough autos from the deal to do a second release. I know some reports said they got around 20,000 autos, with 18,000 or so going into this release. Is 2,000 autos enough to garner a second release. I guess they have to do something with the remaining ones. I guess second box out would be possible, but very limited case run.

Not sure if people saw this or not, but distributors are already trying to sell this product at about $100/box and $1100/case...glad Andrew was nice enough to get me two cases at practically his cost.

Once these flood the market.... it will be hard to recoop the price you got as well. I locked in at a sweet price (62.50/per) but after what he did..... I lost faith in the product and even $63 per was too much to pay.

I won't really be looking to recoup...I'll be keeping most probably only selling doubles (and I may keep some of those too).

And I still think these won't lose as much value as people think.

Razor should just stick to non-sports card products. They seem to be a lot more successful. Their first 2 baseball products they put out were big duds. Price point dropped considerably in Sig Series and Letterman. This whole "exclusive" contract thing has been a huge bust so far.
